These auras that iv seen mentioned is it possible to have them but it not progress into a seziure? because i been having them for years i never know thats what the were i always thought it was normal. Everytime i tried to ask someone they always said well i do that to it no big deal. but for me i feel like im losing touch with my reality and if i cant hold on im going to fall into darkness i know sounds strange but it hard to explain.

It's very possible to have an aura and not have it evolve into a seizure. For many people (like myself quite often) the aura is the seizure.

I have "auras" too, but that mainly is the seizure. Occasionally it will progress into a tonic clonic, but most often not.

yea thats what happened to me on the 8th i had the aura feeling but it was more severe then others i was like i couldnt hold on to my reality then i came to on the ground i had a tonic clonic or granmal what the doctor called it. thanks so much for your input this is more then what the doctors have said the only answer to anything that has happened to me i gotton is i have a seziure disorder but thats not enough information on what happening to me!!!!!

Yeah I can relate to you about thinking things are normal... before I was diagnosed, many of the symptoms of my simple partials I had assumed were normal.

Anyway, it is my understanding that an Aura is a seizure itself, so of course you can have a standalone aura.

Hi, Sindy.

Auras ARE seizures. They are simple partial seizures. For some people they progress into another type of seizure, for some people they don't.

Don't worry about people saying that things happen to them all the time and it's no big deal. My sister does that, too. I told her I heard things that aren't there, and she says that she thinks she hears something in the house all the time. My reply was, "yeah, but do they SAY things to you? Or do you hear something specific, like bells ringing????" After she was done discounting my experience, she decided I was a bit crazy.

People don't understand fully what we experience. If they did they wouldn't say it happens to them, too. Or the ones that do say that actually have seizures, too, and don't know it.
