Sorry, I put this in the wrong place.

I have giving myself B-12 shots every 2 weeks, because of the deficiency causes by Dilantin.

HOWEVER each time I get the shot -about 2 or 3 days later I get such anxiety and Panic attacks that are off the charts. These last for a week.

I have ask (all) my dr. if this a side effect of the B-12 shot. and of course they look at me like I'm crazy. I do not want to be mean to anyone. My husband told me he cares for me but that he just could not keep putting up with the anger that comes out of me. (AND IT DOES COME OUT)

I found on the internet at too much B-12 in the body DOES bring on anxiety and panic attacks.

I don't KNOW when to give myself the shots, fearing damage to my body after reading what B-12 deficiency can do.

I hope you will excuse me, if I have posted this before. I get confused, don't know when I'm in the KITCHEN, Foyer, or at the Back Fence>

HOW do you know WHEN IT is time for the shot.

Are the shots that you are using preservative-free? If not, I would find a place that you can get them free of "junk" just to make sure you are not having a reaction to the preservative. I know of a few places that will make them that way if you are interested (assuming you are in the USA).

Have you tried a different form of B12? Most docs prescribe the cyanocobalamin form but your body might need methyl- or hydroxy- or possibly adenosyl-.

Have you tried taking a daily dose of sublingual B12? Perque makes a hydroxy form. NOW (and other companies) have a methyl form. Cyano is the easiest form to get but not sure if it is the best form to use. Source Naturals makes a methy/adenosyl form. Maybe you absorb B12 readily and the injections are too much for you or you are triggering detox which is causing the anxiety that you experience.

Thread moved to the Kitchen.

My wife takes a regular B-12 supplement. No shots.

B-12 shots

Thank you for your reply.

I took B-12 sublingual for several years-but my boby didn't seem to absor. At one point I was getting shots along with taking subl. Just so I could get up.

I now give myself the shots every two weeks. I don't know if I just get scared of getting into that same shape. And I given myself the shot to soon.

Being that I am on Dilantin and clonazepam (side effects) is fatigue also.

I hope I'm not repeteing myself.

It is so confusing, after the shot next day I am still tired. THEN IT HITS!!

It is two or three days after shot, the anxiety gets so bad and stays for about 5 days.
Thank you for your inform. I did not know about the diiff. ingredrents that made up the shot. I will call my phar. to see.

I do live in the US-in Georgia. So I might need the inform. you spoke of.

Then check out Coastal Compounding in Savannah, GA if you are interested in preservative free B12.

Also find out the form you are using that is causing the anxiety.

Maybe you just need to take it less often.

You should talk to your doctor about it or find another one that will listen to and take action regarding your concerns.
