I've got some pretty bad keprage problems, pretty bad is putting it nicely.

I saw that there are people who recomend B6 for it so I started taking some. It seemed however about after a week of taking it I started having alot of seizures. Has this happened with anyone else too?

Hi Valeriedl: Wow this happened to me too, but with phenobarbital. I posted this on another thread but cannot remember which one. I also have read there are people who take vitamin B6 and it really helps their seizures.

For me, B6 reduced the phenobarbital level in my blood, so it was as if I was taking less phenobarbital, hence the lowered threshold. I did not ask the neurologist I was seeing at the time before I tried the B6, but was reading a natural health book and it was recommended for seizures. I have since read about it more thoroughly and phenobarbital and B6 absolutely do not work well together. I do not even take a multiple vitamin because most have 200 or 300 percent of the required, which is too much for me.

I am not sure with the keprage though.

It can be hard to know if the B6 is what is making things worse. Are you taking it at the same time as the Keppra? Are you taking it with a B-Complex supplement (particularly B12)? Those things can make a positive difference. If you take it too close to bedtime, it can interfere with sleep. You could also try taking a smaller size dose.

If you feel pretty sure that it is causing the seizures, give it a rest and see how you feel.

I don't if this will help you, I hope so.

I can't take ANY over the counter B vitamins. They all cause seizures for me.
It was through this forum I read about compounding pharm.

I now have my B6, B12, folic acid, Vit. D and calicum compounded has this has worked for me.

These are all vit. our body needs and E. medication seem to cause deficiency in these.

Hope you find what you are needing to help you.

Yes, I think I was taking at the same time as the Keppra.

I take a multivitaman too, I don't know if that has B12 in it or not.

I stopped taking the B6 though and I've been ok. I'm still having seizures but not like I was when I was taking the B6.
