I'm actually doing a major no-no by being on the computer right now & would get a royal chewing out by my doctor if she knew I was here. I have post concussion syndrome as a result of 3 concussions starting in late October. The concussions are the results of my passing out. The first one I kin of remember - I was taken to the ER, but no cause was found for my passing out. I don't remember anything surounding the other 2 falls, but they have affected me significan'u/ My doctor confined to to strict bed &U brain rest rest _ no computer, no reading, nothing.

I have a new neuro & he asked about my seizures. I told hime that apparently all seizures but my simple partial seizures went away when a stressful situation was removed from my life. I told him about those, hearing music when others don't, sort of hallucinating, seeing things that aren't there, etc. When I started telling him about passing out & not remembering anything about it, he said he wanted to do another EEGWhen I saw the order, he wrote down complex partial :&simple partial. He was upset that my old neuro has had me on valium for 2+ ;years when it should only be an emergency drug, so he is weaning me off of it. He isn't impressed with my old neuro at all & I never was, but I didn't know medicaid would take me to other cities where I could see good doctors. I have that knowledge now & have a good neuro now.

The bad thing is, as my neuro pointed out, If the EEG showws thet I'm having complex partials, m;y current meds aren't controlling them & I don't really have any other meds to try as I've already been thru everything. I'm buckled into my power chair all the time already, except when it's necessay to get out, & I may continue that way from here on out jut to keepo safe.

However, I'm doing my best not to get down about it. My aide who comes weekday mornings says I really should have someone in the afternoons just to keep an eye on me until my husbanhe gets home, butI don't know if I kneed that. The frustrating thing is how it has affected my mind, my spelling & memorty, etc. I hope all of that will improve as my concussion sytndrome improves. So, while I'm not supposed to get on the computer, I will sneak in for just a little while once a week, but I really do pay for it later with severe headache. Anyway, I'm back & saying Hi.

Hi Shelia, welcome back!

So sorry to hear about the concussions, and the not-so-great neurologist. Glad to hear you've found a better doc, though, and I hope there is still a med out there for you to try. You might also look into neurofeedback, if there aren't any meds that can help.
