Well, Im back from my Drs Appointment! Im actually quite suprised at how well things went! My appointment was scheduled for 3pm, but we didnt see him til almost 4pm! When he did come into the room, he asked how things were going. So I told him since I last spoke to him, when I got off the Lamictal and was kept on the Keppra at 2500mgs, things were alright, but I had the tingling in my left side of my body, til I was increased to 3000mgs of Keppra XR, and since then Ive been feeling great!
He said, thats great to hear! He said I was one of the "rare" ones that reacted differently to medications than what I was suppose to react to it. He said the Lamictal was suppose to give me more of a relaxed feeling, instead of that feeling, It made my emotions feeling like I was on a roller coaster, and I broke out with severe sores around my jaw area, along with severe swollen glands. Once I was off of that, within days I was back to myself again. Since May, Ive been feeling great with no seizures!
He said that it looks like Keppra XR is the magic medication that my body handles quite well! He did say in a year or two, we can look into trying to get me off the Keppra XR and see what will come about. But for now, with no seizures taking place, no other problems, etc. there wasnt much of anything else to bring up. He said I would see him back in a year if all else goes well!
Now I dont know if the Psych dr I saw in June said anything to him about him being kind of ruff and aggresive to me, when I was going through all those changes going from medication to medication.
onder: My mom thinks something might have been said, because today he was more laid back and kind. Like my mom said, drs learn new things everyday, and in my case, I am a person who reacts differently than what others would react to medications he is use to seeing. As long as the medication is holding things over and Im happy, thats all that matters.
So, the appointment went good! :woot:
