I was up way to late last night after getting up way to early yesterday morning. After reading Brandi's mom post in the foyer I went an read about bed alarms for epileptics and was wondering if any of you have used one. As I've stated before I dont sleep well since Kait had her seizure. We put a baby monitor in her room for a few nights however that just made my sleeping worse. Every time she moved or made the slightest noise I was springing up out of bed. Price wise they dont seem to out of line. One that I found was only $350.00 for the entire set up. Seems fair for a little piece of mind IF it truely works like it says it does.

I've tried two different ones for work (i work with adults with learning disabilities). One was like a small mat that is supposed to detect unusual movement. The problem was that it was way too oversensitive no matter what way me and my colleagues set it up. It went off at the slightest movement and just meant that our client got woken up during the night by us going into her room. I think that one was quite expensive too, like £400 ($600?)

In another house there is a girl that has seizures where she will get up and wander around. For her we have a mat which we place on the floor next to her bed. If she is just getting up for the bathroom then she knows to step around it but if she is having a seizure then it will trigger an alarm. I think your best bet is to research alarms and then do a seperate search to try and find some customer comments about it.

I can't remember the names of the two we have off the top of my head but i could soon find out.

I should look up these. My mom drives me nuts at times. I know she worries but I barely get sleep at night and it's hard when she comes burstin through the door and scarin the heeby jeebez out of me!
