A quick rundown. I'm fairly certain I don't piss my bed while I'm asleep. I'm currently 25 that stopped like 4-5 years ago. Anyway when I have a grand mal I lose my bladder. So when I wake up with a piss stain on my bed I'm fairly certain I had a grand mal during the evening, maybe 2-4 times a year? So any thoughts? How can I confirm an evening seizure? Or how to keep my bed clean?

If you think you're having grand mals you could always install a camera to record you while you sleep. As far as keeping your bed clean, you can get mattress protectors. They are typically made of vinyl and can replace your mattress pad even, if you have one (some mattresses have them built in). When they get wet, you simply throw the mattress protector in the wash along with the sheets.

There has only been one time that I lost my bladder during a seizure. I don't know if it happened when I was going into the seizure or when I started coming out it because I could feel warm liquid running down my legs. I didn't realize I'd lost my bladder until I was fully out of the seizure and saw my legs and PJ crotch (which were dark shorts) were wet and the inside of my slippers (which are white) were yellow.

Everything that resebiunne said are good ideas of things to do.

Thanks. I'll probably buy a mattress protector. I think l lose my bladder every time I have a grand mal but it's hard to say.

Hi-When my son seizures (he's 30) bedwetting and bowel movement occurs. On cleaning mattresses, I bought a rug shampooer and use the upholstry tool on the mattress and it cleans up bright and super clean. It takes about 3 hrs. with a fan blowing to have complete dryness. Smells great also. I was surprised by the results and it works 100% of the time.

I realized I never updated this. But I bought a mattress protector, it was about $12-15 from Wal-Mart.

I have lost my bladder a few times during complex partials--I haven't had tonic clonics since I was 14. Now, Ill sometimes wear protection, especially if I'm going out.
