Hi all., so I had a tc at about 430 this morning. It was pretty bad

But I've been throwing up since then. I'm fine if I stay still but as soon as I move I get sick.

Anyone else experience this? It's pretty awful

After I've had a tonic clonic I spend the rest of the day being sick and I also have one hell of an evil migraine.

awww chris, so sorry bud. HUGS HUGS HUGS. i hope your wife stayed home today for comfort (blankies and movies and cuddles and whatever else you need :))
i myself don't get nauseous but hear/read it all the time. it's fairly common, so don't worry too much. if it's not something that usually happens with your t/c's, there could be a variety of factors. what did you eat yesterday, esp. in the evening? were you unusually tired over the weekend (makes one weak and can affect the tummy)? any chance you'd had a few drinks a day or so before? how did, or did you fall? if you smashed your head pretty good (dizzy/waves/nausea) or fell keeled over (can take a real toll on stomach muscles, then once the sz is over and you're relaxed your stomach can feel shaky and make you vomit)?
don't worry too much k, it's normal and should pass over the day. your system is just coming down off the stress, kind of like settling down after an adrenaline high, doesn't usually feel so good.
if it doesn't go away in a few days tho, make an appt. luv ya.

Thanks qtown you're a star.. Thanks for the support.

My wife did end up staying home with me, lots of cuddles and blankets. :) and she didn't mind me watching the soccer game! I'm a big Fan, she's not. :)

The nausea does happen to me sometimes. I mostly have my tc's while sleeping and I've found that whether I throw up once I get up in the morning depends on when I had the seizure. If I have it at 12 and sleep til 7 ill be fine. But I had this one at 430 am and was up at 6 so it follows the pattern. The dry heaves are sure awful.

It seems to be passing now though thank goodness.. I guess it's just from system shock/ stress like you said.

Thanks for the support!

Any chance it could be the stomach flu or a virus?? I don't know how well your seizures are controlled, but mine are not and if I get hold of an illness beyond the mild cold my seizures become much worse. So just wondering if the illness (which you weren't yet aware of) triggered the tc, and now you are suffering from the effects of the illness. Anyway, whatever the scenario is, I hope you feel better soon!

good, great girl! i HAVE to have my bf stay home the day after a t/c, comfort food and cuddles and just those big arms, phew, a must :) at this point it's pretty much a given. i have a big one = him calling in.

bleh, dry heaves, yeah those suck. good to hear it's passing.
it's unreal what a t/c can do to us, physically and mentally. strains muscles, emotions, you name it. easy to understand how one could feel nauseous.

support ANY time friend ;)

Chris,
Sorry to hear about your TC, hope you feel better soon.

I don't have many tonic clonics but when I have had a TC I've usually had a massive headache & vomited after the seizure.

Thanks CQ. Feeling mostly better now, tongue still hurts like crazy but that always lasts for a few weeks after.

at least it's the first day of summer!

yes, hooray for summer! (Or winter in CQ's case...)

Glad you feel a little better, I've never bitten my tongue during a seizure but I imagine it sucks.

Did you guys only just start your summer lol.
We usually start our seasons at the start of a month eg - winter started on 1st June & ends 31st August.

I have had ONE of those so far. Threw up some sort of watery stuff all day and couldn't move out of bed.

I'm sorry to hear about it happening.

My Tonic clonic I had a couple years ago resulted in uncontrollable vomiting as well as my three drop seizures and I've woken up from sleep with that awful ringing confusion and instant vomiting. My husband is amazed at how often i vomit but now that we know seizures are often related we get it
