Okay, I thought it might be fun to see how many of you have gone without noticing a very big thing. For example mine is we bought our house after looking it over at least during 3 visits, checked out the inside and outside. We moved in and everything was glorious. Then after about 2 weeks one of our boys mentioned something about a cemetery. What? What about a cemetery? Oh right....I totally missed that there is cemetery behind our house! Now in my defense, there is a chain link fence there, but as most of you know, you can see through that! Boy did I feel silly. How could I not notice that? At first it creeped me out, I can't lie, but now I like it. No one is ever going to build back there (poltergeist) and it is really quite :roflmao:

Every day I look at myself in the mirror to make sure my skirt isn't tucked up into my pantyhose and their's no toilet paper hanging out of the back of my pants.

One day, suddenly, I looked into the mirror as usual and I noticed I had gained about 30 lbs and was still squeezing into my old clothes. How on earth had I missed that?! (Darn you, Keppra and Lamictal!)

LOL!!! I do that all the time!

It took me about 4 months to realize that Kaitlynns boyfriend had one eye that was half blue and half green.

It also took me almost 3 years to realize that my highschool had a "secret" stairwell that I could have taken to make my life easier going from the top floor science hallway to the math hallway below it without walking around the school first!

One year I didn't realize that Daylight Savings had occurred. Where did that hour go and why didn't I notice? To be fair, I was in college at the time.

I worked in engineering at the medical center in Houston, Texas and I had keys to almost any door and could take the elevators to floors others could not go to. Most of the time there was a worker either sleeping or smoking behind most of these hidden places. It was really fun to be walking with the general public and then just slip behind a door and then pop up somewhere else!

@Endless

I have been on Lamictal for three years and am happy to say I have not had a seizure for two and a half years. I am however Sad to say that I have gained about 70lbs. I have talked to my doctor and he says it Cannot be from the medication. ?? I am Also having a "thing" going on with my hair, it has been breaking off like crazy, my doctor also said not from the med but it didn't start until After I started on the Lamictal. ? I would like to know if you ever notice the hair "thing". :-)
Thanks
Cali

Hi superchickone -- I had the same side effects (among others) when I went on Lamictal -- hair loss and weight gain. Then I tapered my dosage down from 250mg to 175. My weight has stabilized (hopefully!), and the hair loss stopped (or at least is back to a normal rate). Ask your doctor about the possibility of backing off your dose a bit, especially since you are seizure-free.

I've been seizure-free for about the same length of time as you. Knock on wood, right?

my dad stuck his head in my room and did notice a bicycle in my dirty clothes pile.

just realized I haven't renewed one of my prescriptions for months. It is the cheapest I have of only 19 dollars. I also was thinking Sunday was the first day of the week.

I also had hair loss on lamictal, but it helped me lose weight! Made my seizures worse though and I hit pretty much all the side effects. Ick!

I remember one Xmas my mum and dad got us a pc (about 1998, so I was about twelve). We came downstairs, opened our presents and didn't notice for hours that there was a massive stack of boxes in the corner, covered with a large sheet of brightly coloured Xmas paper!

My old high school used to be a convent. I loved finding all the little passageways, and finding the way into the bell tower was awesome :) was a great little place to hide away.

Absolutely with the hair. My one braid is smaller than my hair in two braids used to be. Boo.

Apparently there's clutter and dust bunnies all over this house, but I don't see them *shrugs*

I got a big kick out of this thread! It must be an epileptic quirk?! lol My husband grows weird beards/mustaches like a 5 inch go-tee. When he shaves he has the smoothest skin I ever felt on a man's face. Even so, he might grow a beard for 6 months, then shave his face & I won't notice for days. When our kids were still home they would notice right away & all would be counting the days till I said something then the whole house would break out in laughter! I take a joke well, but these days I try to remember to look each day to see if Gunther has shaved!

Also, Gunther takes Lamictal & I just shared w/ him why he's been thicker in the waist & thinner on top. We have looked @ his different meds to see what might be causing that. Thanks for sharing that.

Haven't they come close to some cure for male baldness? I thought I recently read that the treatment will be better than some items on the market today. I had the impression that it can stop baldness, but maybe that's only if it's inherited.

When we were looking to buy a new house about 4 years ago, we found a place that my stepdad had been working on (he's a contractor) and the escrow had fallen out, so it was on the market again for a very good price. We liked the house, liked the location, and liked the parking, so we bought it. What we didn't notice (and it wasn't disclosed) is that the house was RIGHT NEXT TO the largest sewage plant on the mountain. We lived there for three years, and we had to plug our noses every summer afternoon.:paperbag:
