So some of you may have seen my overly depressive posts about my anxiety and general hoplelessness especially around taking medication.

This past week I’ve been at an all time low, my anxiety is through the roof and I’m majorly depressed.

I figure life can’t get any worse so I’ve got an appointment with my GP on Thursday where I’ll ask for the Lamotrigine prescription that’s my neuro wants me on.

I’ve been weighing up whether to go back on citalopram and just try and live with the fairly infrequent seizures. Or try the Lamotrigine, and hope it controls both my moods and seizures.

I’ve been reading up reviews on it, a fair share of bad ones, but also a lot of good ones - people saying their lives have been changed.

I also think there’s a chance that I might be BP, because on the Citalopram, I was having “manic” periods, where’d id gamble and spend loads of money, so maybe this will kill two birds with one stone and not leave me with sexual dysfunction.

I’m shit scared, but I’m gonna go for it. Wish me luck!

Good luck! I've done well on Lamotrigine, I'll keep my fingers-crossed that it works well for you.

:hugs:

Good luck to you and stick to your guns on this. Medication can take a few weeks to get properly into your system so don't expect miracles, even if at first you feel awful. You can't live your life in constant fear and anxiety, that's no life at all. I think learning how to relax would be a great help to you and perhaps asking your GP on his/her thoughts on yoga might be an idea.
I don't have epilepsy, my daughter has just been diagnosed with it at age 33, but I've had and still have an awful lot of sh*t happen this year and have found yoga a great help. I also take citalopram which for me has helped massively but I have to admit that I don't read the leaflets that come with the meds because I'm afraid I may talk myself into some of the possible side effects, lol.
Well done for biting the bullet, you're on the first rung of the ladder to a whole new life. Believe in yourself and don't read anything that may have a negative impact on your decision.

... Wish me luck!

sure you will need all the things on your side you can get.

I always do. Not to be rude, but you sound like me, bi-polar. I take seraquel for it, the stuff works well for sleep too.

Just wanted to toss it out there.
