-15F degrees this morning with windchills at -35F. D***, it is cold!

That is -26C.

For our dear UK friends who were complaining about the cold a few weeks ago, we have the real cold here. Tinasmom and others north of here have it even worse. :paperbag:

RobinN, we don't want to hear about your 80 degree temps in California. :noevil:

We are

running the same over here. Lafayette/West Lafayette had a wind chill of -40 according to the message I got from one of my kids. Here in Terre Haute we got to -26 with the wind chill, so far, I think.

SOMEONE SEND US THE HEAT!!!!

I hope all you people in the north stay warm and safe with those temperature extremes.

It's the same here in Pennsylvania, BuckeyeFan! Oh how I wish I lived in Florida. Can't wait for Spring - wishful thinking (got a long way to go).

Well, you can always consider that we have this to be aware of.
High temperatures and windy conditions in Southern California have fire officials on alert. The heat wave is to remain through the weekend, meteorologists say.

Officials said the continued high-temperature, low-humidity spell would dry out the hillsides, increasing risk of brush fires.

The kids are wearing shorts and flip flops to school :pfft:

Thanks, Robin!! :D
Just what we needed to hear - about the kids wearing shorts and flip flops. All of the schools in our area are closed today due to the extreme cold temperatures. Hopefully, you're not in the area of the fires.

It's -24 here today with wind chills about -40.My horse and goat are inside the barn with thier blankets on.

It's -30 c up here in South-Western Ontario (near Toronto)
Can't wait for my trip to Cuba next month.

Randy

I'm moving

to California! Good grief! 'Nuff of this cold--wearing flip flops and shorts in JANUARY?? GIVE IT UP!!!

Mr B, I LOVED the video!!! :)

I do hear word that it is suppose to rain this weekend.

Have you all ever had to ration water?
It isn't much fun.

I think that Robin and Brain are here on this forum just to tease all us coldies with their hot weather!!!!!! :roflmao:

It is also still BRRRRRRRRRRRRR in the UK :o( but not quite down to Buckeyes temperatures. Just to prove it, I only have 2 pairs of socks on today.

Don't forget Robinn, state officials are saying that we are going to have another drought year this year. Northern California has no snow pack, and their water levels are already dropping. So they can't send us in the south any water. Which in turn means that we will be having to get more water from the Colorado river. And the fire dangers will be up.

Looks like Skilly has come along to tease me now as well, oh for a bit of California sunshine :roflmao:

And to think, I was whining about the 23F temps here (-5C). The good thing about Texas weather is that it's supposed to be 80F by the middle part of next week. :) We've got a burn ban here too (at least in my county)

Hmmm

California, Texas, Florida.....Arizona, New Mexico....

Doesn't matter to me at this point. I think I'm a gonna MOVE!!! GOOD GRIEF!!!

Right now we are at a BALMY 7 degrees!!!

This is NUTS!!:roflmao::paperbag:

I'd definitely love to be in California right now. I wouldn't have woken up to the frozen pipes and lack of water that I had here in Ohio. My dear husband ran to the store to buy jugs of water for drinking and meal prep, brought snow in to melt for toilet flushing, and then spent forever trying to thaw the pipes with my hair dryer. By 11am it finally worked, but I felt sorry for him freezing outside in these sub-zero temps.

Hey southerners - I wouldn't wish your wildfires on anyone either. They have to be scary as hell.

No frozen pipes at my house, but I am wearing two pairs of socks - INSIDE. Brrr!
