I had a seizure this morning then another one a few hours later. After the second seizures I noticed that I was having trouble hearing out of one of my ears, it just felt like it was clogged up. I had another seizure about three hours later and now I don't think I can hear at all out of that ear at all. Is it possible that the seizures could have caused the problems I'm having with hearing?

If it doesn't get better by Monday I'm going to call the doctor about it.

Hmm i guess the issue with the clogged ear could be related to the seizure.
With the seizures I have now my aura is strange noises & sometimes my ears feel a little funny.

Good idea to check with your dr in regards to this, hope it clears up before Monday

My ear popped, if you know what I mean by, and my hearing started coming back. I had a pretty bad headache after the second seizure too but it's almost gone now and that's when my hearing seemed to start coming back. But my ear feels like it needs to pop again now and my hearing seems to be going. Don't know if the headache and/or my ear needing to pop could have had something to do with the hearing problems too or not. Hopefully the hearing keeps coming and I won't have to see the dr!

You may have a temporarily clogged eustachian tube. It's possible the seizure played a role in causing it, perhaps due to swelling in the ear or changes in air pressure if you knocked your head. Here's one thing you could try: Pinch your nose shut and keep your mouth closed as well and then blow gently; this should help clear or "pop" your ear. This procedure is also called the "Valsalva Maneuver" if you want to look it up. Other ear unclogging methods can be fund here: http://www.wikihow.com/Unclog-the-Inner-Ear-or-Eustachian-Tube

Change In Air Pressure

valeriedl,
The headache you had was probably caused by high pressure in you skull form your ear being blocked. This blockage also caused your loss of hearing in one ear.
Two things are happening at the same time when that headache goes away! Your headache goes away as the pressure is leaking out of your ear and at the same time your hearing is getting better. You can try to 'pop' your ear to clear it out to hear normally again or wait and see if the earwax loosens in that ear.
All it takes to lose hearing is for the earwax to shift and then cause a hearing loss! Earwax is always shifting around by itself and will normally come loose on it's own. I have lived with having ears that produce an extra large amount of earwax and this has happened many times for me.
Another good 'home remedy' is to hold a washcloth that has been held in as warm of water you can stand and then rung out enough so it isn't dripping water and then fold that washcloth up to hold over your ear. This extra warmth should soften the earwax and make it move out of the ear easier. :twocents:

I woke up this morning and I could hear again just fine. I must have been pretty clogged up with ear wax! Thanks everyone!

I have troubles with one of my ears in particular generally being clogged up. I had a simple partial seizure this morning and that ear had the clogged up feeling. I think it's physical rather than mental, possibly due to tensing in my case.
