Ok, that's the drug I've been prescribed and I'm only on the second day of taking it and I can feel some pretty nasty side-effects already. I'm drowsy and fatigued all the time now, and I've also read about the possibility of a side-effect where you percieve music as being a semi-tone lower than it should. Well... I seem to be having both of those side effects, but they usually pass after a few weeks as your body gets used to the drug, don't they?

Also, is anyone else here on that drug?

Thanks.

It can take a week or two for your system to get used to a new drug. The side effects may diminish as you acclimate to it.

Most of the medications prescribed for seizures cause those side effects. It's important to NOT have the brain all excited and these meds dull the brain. Some are worse than others.

Finding the right combination of medication is a hit and miss experiment. It can take quite a while to find just the right combination. Give yourself a few weeks, like Bernard said.

Yeah, I guess you're right. The side effects seem to be getting slightly better now, though the dose is going to be tripled over the next few weeks so I dread to imagine what I'll be like at 600mg (I'm on 200mg a day now) if the side effects don't pass. I'll be a zombie. XD Or I'll just carry on falling asleep in class. heheh.

oh beno ur lucky! i got through school without being diagnosed!!!!!!!!! lucky bastard!

they all thought i was some ADD dreamer (yep ... again ... on drugs). so my trouble concentrating and perceptual/bad behaviour wasnt just insolence!

Always look on the Bright Side of Life!

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...
