This morning I gave my medications a long hard look before I took them. I am taking Keppra and Gabapentin. I have been taking Keppra now for about 6 weeks. I had a dud test did on my keppra levels in my blood. I retook that test and am waiting on those results. My problem is since I started taking Keppra my legs hurt so much I am almost bedridden. I also think I got better seizure control from taking Versed IM. However I have took all of that med up and I seem to have had a seizure this morning that has triggered a Vasovagal syncope about 2AM this morning. I CAN NOT get any medical attention at the VA Hospital because my primary care Doctor has not been in for sometime. I put in a call to the Clinical Pharmacist at the VA this morning that has not been returned. I am on the verge of not taking the keppra anymore. This is my catch -22.
 
Dr put me on gabapen with my lac I had stop gab within few days I like you could not get out of bed.The side effects went within few days stopping the gab..It was locum GP who put me on them not so much for e but some dreadful pain had at time..my nuro man said it was mistake give them to me.No one explained why.....Can you get attention at Er...You had dud test did. What dud test apart from good alliteration...are you on sinvatins by any chance
 
I have been on Gabapentin for almost a year now. My leg pain started after I started the Keppra. I am not on a sinvatin as far as I know. The dud test was a test to see what the Keppra levels were in my blood. The test came back sub therapeutic ( NO WAY ). I am still waiting on the retest to see if maybe I need a smaller dose. I am also concerned because I have had another one of my bad seizures this afternoon. The Keppra is not what was controlling this. In my opinion it was the Versed that I no longer have access too. Sometimes I think I would be better off if someone just shot me.

Welcome to CWE! I've taken both of these meds and Keppra gave me a hot temper and increased my seizures once I got off of it and went on vimpat I was much better. In regards to Neurontin that was the worst drug for me it caused me to have absence status seizures where I would be out of it 30 min. to 3 hrs. and have to go to the hospital ER in order to bring me out of the seizure. I later found out that the drug co. was being sued for millions because the drug was causing seizures to start for some people who never had E. and the drug co. was doing off market labeling. Neurontin also caused me to have back pain and wicked headaches. Check with a local pharmacists and they can give you a lot more detail. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

I know how you feel about being shot.i take Lamotrogine I use word lac because nak do I think nak means Lamotrogine . Think lac must have least side effects.
Porky I hear about keppra rage I will not take that one by things I read about.
Simavestin colestral thing and can cause nasty leg pain.
I on the lac but obviously not working if eeg showing temporal lobe still.i have scarring in brain I have been told e Meds can do that.buggered if you do buggered if you don't .explain versed.I still so ignorant about e after all these years maybe because up to now thought ok but recent 2 years things gone bit down hill and I chosen be coward but after knocking teeth out broken leg injured shoulder and eye sight taken dreadful dive so quickly they thinking all related and memory I may aswell walk about in a coma..
I use cloberzam aswel..Doc asks how many sz a day and I don't know unless something obvious happens it very frustrating because sure somethinking happening but don't know what..I used be so good at math and English I look at what I written and realise I don't remember basic spelling alto I do do a lot of typos and eyes so bad I don't realise plus I assume people are thinking on my level that of one brain cell but people on here got few more acting brain cells than me..Are you Uk because been told rats Arse getting much done NHS on its knees and things like e and diabetes been put on back burner we'll have in my area.
I hope things get better don't try to despair many people on here feel same and postings are helpful.and welcome to cue
