Well I know its only day two and I have see how things go but it "seems" like my vision has sharpened since being only on the Vimpat 400mg a day. The other issue I've noticed is a sense of a "heaviness" or dullness on my right side of my:brain:. I haven't drank in over twenty years so don't have strong memories of hangovers but that is the only thing I can think of. The right side is where they said the lesions are if I remember also seeing that I have right temporal lobe epilepsy. I'll also see how my workout goes today. Its only day two so I guess I'll make a few notes.

Defiantly make the notes as you said, its good to see the vimpat seems to be working for you. I remember that sense of heaviness you mention. Keep letting us know how things are going for you.

I agree, keeping the notes is a good idea. I also think it's good to take a few weeks to see how things balance. Your system will be surprised by the new input and it'll take a while for it to balance. Keep us posted on how it's going.

My wife still tries to get me to go for my after work "neuropsychologist mandated" power naps. The other day I actually did and this is me just on the VIMPAT. When I closed my eyes it felt like my eyes were "fluttering" when my eye lids were shut. Really weird feeling. I opened my eyes at first then closed them again it happened again and I just kept my eyes closed until I drifted off to sleep. I think the sensation was there until I fell asleep.

I was on Lamictal for 12 years. I stopped taking it two years ago and I had no problem. Going off it decreased side effects that I have to deal with. I'm also on Tegretol and keppra. The reason I went off it was because I got a rash all over my body that was most likely from Amoxicillin. They took me off Lamictal, though, just to be safe.

What was the worst side effect for you with the lamotrigine? I seem to be a bit more alert off of the lamotigine. I guess the one real good thing that has happened so far is the clearing up of my eyesight. I was getting ready to go back to my optometrist for another "non-insurance" check up. My insurance only covers one exam every two years. I got a new prescripton and was still having issues. My optomitrist said she should see it on my exam if it was medication based. Something was causing it as I can see better now off of the lamotrigine. Time will tell if it was just a coincident. My head for the most part feels clearer, doesn't mean I'm thinking any better. I wouldn't mind doing another neuropsychologist assessment in four or six months post lamotrigine to see if there is any difference.

Lamictal caused me dizziness and blurred vision sometimes. Tegretol has also caused these side effects for me. These two meds also would get me "drunk-like" when I was on high dosages. I felt like the room was spinning around and like I was going to vomit. I would just have to sleep it off. Eventually, I lowered my dosages myself b/c it was ridiculous. My doctor had me on dosages that were toxic for me. Lamictal also caused hand tremors. On some days, it was challenging to shave with my hand shaking. There were times my hand would be shaking so bad that I had trouble signing my name.

Lamictal may or may not have affected my vision. My vision was perfect before going on it (due to laser surgery). Since going on Lamictal, my vision has gone downhill, and I've had to get glasses. Really annoying, but hard to tell whether it's the Lamictal's fault or not.

Here is another question and I have noticed really only since changing to the vimpat is my jaw is aching. I do have a bite plane / guard, but my jaw has not hurt or bothered me like this in I don't know how long. I am almost contemplating wearing my mouth guard during the day. I also find that I seem to have the jitters at times, minor though.

I found my jaw hurt as well when I was on the vimpat but the feeling went after about 2 weeks but I thought something was wrong at the start, I think you need to keep an eye on it.

The lamc mabe reason for my eyesite being this way never thought of that.they referred me to laser clinic no way is they putting lazier on my eyes.i wondering if lamac the cause.sight bad enough need white stick and have other odds and ends.i using prism specs have thought of that
