Hey all,

I have been taking lamictal xr, and today I started on depakote ER. I have never had extended release before. Should I be taking them in the morning or evening? The lamictal xr makes me feel great, so much better than immediate release. But I have never had depakote ER before.

Experiences? Observations? Likes? Dislikes?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Just wondering, are you only taking one tablet of each per day?
Never been on extended release meds before, but I'd imagine the time you take them wouldn't matter very much, just as long as you kept that time consistent and didn't miss a dose or overlap two doses.

Hey,

I take the Depakote once a day and will be taking the lamictal once a day - I didn't even notice that the package said to take it once a day!

I have been off epilim/Depakote for months, but after two seizures I figure it's not working out!

I would think that just for memory purposes it would be easier to take them both at the same time of day. Other than that, as Silat says, the XR means that there's a more or less constant amount in your system, so time of day shouldn't matter too much. If they upset your stomach, you might want to try taking them with a meal.
