Yeah I read that too. I had issues with depression even before the epilepsy... Never severe, but it's always been there.

manic depression runs in my family as well as bipolar disorders. my seizure issues stem from surgery tho. I was depressed before and even greater after.

Same here, it really worries me.It really seemed to climb when I went off my dilantin and
started on the Keppra.

Yep, manic depression also runs in my family. My dad did drugs, which probably triggered his, but the genetic predisposition was there.

Im starting to think that my neuro dr prescribed my "divalproex" for my mood swings, anxiety and bad personality usually when I see him. I think he thinks I'm not having auras/simple seizures, but very well maybe bipolar, why do I think this? Hmm, he prescribed larazopam (spelling) valume? I didn't even know it. I took a bag of meds back that I didnt take to include the larazopam and he tossed it back to me, saying "Keep that one, you might need it. It's valume" Talk about a kick in the head. Wow, I gotta write about this one.

Actually valium (Diazepam) and/or ativan (Lorazepam) are often prescribed for epilepsy, for short-term use in stopping seizures. My neurologist gave me a small amount of ativan to take with me when I travel, in case I have a seizure in an area where there isn't easy access to a hospital.
