Just a few minutes ago got home from hospital - went in late 12th Nov. I get so doggoned irritated at EMT's who do not know the difference between postictal (almost coma status) and a CODE BLUE status. The one thing I dread about hospitals is them trying up to 10 x to find an IV site that will not pop. No prob this time, during my so called CODE BLUE a doc put IV in Juggler vein. (it later popped out too. - plus the other 2 iv's 1 in each hand as each failed - got lots of valves - so hard to stick- whooopieeee - I'm home). Anyway, neurologist had taken me off Triliptal before to stop tonic-clonic (grand-mals and coma due to low sodium). COOL - but TRILIPTAL is what seemingly was what we discovered controlled the TLE in conjunction w/ Neurontin and Keppra which were both increased significantly. My regular neuro in the hospital ran EEG, etc. and said she made a mistake and I needed the TRILIPTAL/NEURONTIN/KEPPRA/KLONAPIN toddy to control all. I've been for a month using salt to counter balance THAT electrolyte. SO, guess what, THIS time my MAGNESIUM was low and had to have IV supplements.
ANYHOODLE DOODLE - I'm BAAAAAACKKKKK!!
AND, the hospital messed up my send me home scripts as in sent me home w/ NOTHING and this A.L.F.'s lovely people said I would go back on same routine before I went in hospital. Well - DUH- that was the whole scheme of things to regulate AND change meds. Even had to have small units of insulin in hospital.
I feel great, just super irritated at the non-competence of medical personnel in regards to EPILEPSY AWARENESS!!!!! Nada!!
So, here I be, home, home on the funny farm~~~:roflmao::roflmao:
Med tech just came to room and all is copasetic (??SP??) = OK:rock::rock:
Will get off here now and rest a bit. Hope all are ok. Big hug to all who need one ((((((((()))))))))))
