Well after being on Dilatin for 46 years the Dr. is comptempting taking me off Dilantin. One of the reasons why is that I have been diagnosed with Osteo-penia
(spelling) So drink more milk drink less colas maybe start drinking coffe I need the caffine. So the vimpat is going to cost me $450.00 a month not covered by insurance at this point. So i'm thinking that thier has to be more meds that I can try that will work that don't cost me an arm and two legs

Caffeine can interfere with calcium absorption so you might also want to take a Calcium/Magnesium/D supplement to help. Ask your doctor (and insurance company) about other meds that may help. I'm on Lamictal which has a generic that is covered, so my meds cost $15 a month.
 
I was on Lamictal about ten years ago worked really well but I felt like ____ and got the creepy crawlies from it but it worked.
 
They didn't work nearly as well for me as Dilantin/phenytoin, but Tegretol and Carbatrol are similar and have less severe side effects.

I can not take anything but Dilantin and Clonazepam. Diff. Neru. tried all the meds. I couldn't handle them.

I've been on Dilantin for 41 years excepts for the times trying the other meds.
