I just got a phone call from my primary (he's helping me with the seizures) and he told me some of the results of my blood work. I tested positive for Lyme Disease. He opted to do the test because of the E coming back (had the surgery 4-1/2 yrs. ago). He was perplexed as to why nobody considered possibly Lyme since that can cause seizures. Needless to say I start antibiotics today. Also, I checked out some of the symptoms of Lyme and I have a few (mainly tired) which I attributed to the E. So, I'm either disgusted or happy! If I can work on fixing the Lyme perhaps the seizures will go away : ) or if I end up with Lyme and E I'm going to be disgusted, which is what I'm dealing with now. Anyway, I wanted to throw this out here because my doctor stated, "Everyone should be tested for Lyme especially if they have seizures". At least here in the Northeast (NY) it's bad and I do have a dog. Obviously if one has E and has had it for years chances are it's just the E. But, for those starting to get seizures check for Lyme. For me, my primary felt that they removed the RTL so why seizures 4 years later? Obviously we know this can happen BUT just MAYBE it's due to Lyme. At least I'm hoping : )
