Dizziness related to my seizers????

Scene January 2012 I have had three seizers whilst I was asleep, one witnessed and the other two I know I had them because in the morning my muscles where sore and I had bit my tongue and lips really bad. For quite a while before when I stand up I get dizzy and sometimes loose my vision, (Severity sometimes depends on how long I have been sat down) I also get a sensation of a tingle (like the feeling just after pins and needles) all over my body including my face. In the last year or so it has become worse than it was when I first noticed it. I just wondered if this is related to my seizers?? thanks

Waiting to see a neurologist. (6 month wait!!!) NHS!!!

Nothing yet for my seizers because I am waiting to see someone. But I am on sertraline.

The standing thing happens to me sometimes, and has been going on for awhile. I also have really low blood pressure, and after my T/C seizures it is always lower than usual, so I guess it's possible it could be related.

Assuming this happens all the time, seizures or not, you can sort of test this out yourself. If you stand too quickly your heart has a hard time getting blood up to your head. So you feel faint and things go black. If you stand up slowly and it doesn't happen... then its a good guess its blood pressure related (had this issue my whole life. Started standing slower and it went away. If I bend down to pick something up I have to stand back up slow or I would fall the blood pressure got so low). If it happens all the time no matter how quickly you stand, then it could be a host of other issues. Good news is you can see your primary care MD for this issue and not wait the six months which by the way is ridiculous. As far as the tingles, I'm not sure?

Thanks for your reply. Its the same when I stand up slow, but I'm seeing the neurologist tomorrow. So hopefully he will be able to give me some answers. Thank you

I see that you are taking Sertraline (generic for zoloft) this make be your problem. I say this because this caused me to have the dizzyness and seizures also. Now this might NOT be your problem, what effects someone, might not have the same effect on you.

I also have been having problems with severe dizzy spells and tingling in my face, hands, feet, and legs. I have a different type of seizure it sounds like but I do understand the agrivation of this problem. My doctor is test my ears but they are sending back to neurologist or a neurologist for the tingling and numbness. He also put me on a second medication for this problem. It might be seizure related but my family doctor is not sure yet. It could also be a side effect of medication. I have been reading that happens with some of the medications out there. Good luck.

I have a similar sort of issue to you guys, xXSpecs and roseycoe. I often get tingling, sometimes to the point of numbness, in my hands, feet, face and scalp, and I have had some bouts of vertigo and dizziness (that is, dizziness, but also the sensation that the room is spinning and that my vision is moving - when I stare at a wall or the ceiling, it looks like my field of vision is spinning clockwise). I've had some nerve conduction studies in my hands and feet done by neurologist, and he said that they were clear, and he pretty much left it at that.

It's a bit reassuring to note that other people are getting these symptoms, as I was starting to wonder if I should be seeking a second opinion about them, as I didn't think they were traditional epileptic symptoms.

Hi everyone,
It is comforting to know that there are others out here with the same illness and similar symtoms. I thank you so much for your response. I was beginning to think I am nuts. But it gives me hope to know there are others suffering from the same or similar problems. The good news is that my family doctor beleives me about the seizures being real and he said that he has heard stories of seizure patterns changing throughout time. He wants to refer me to a different neurologist. I go to the ear doctor on the 30th of this month and really to be honest I think something might be wrong with my ears. I have a swollen lymph node right behind my right ear and have had it for about a year and a half. Since then all these new problems have been developing and that is why I thought it might be seizure related or at least lower my seizure threshhold if something is wrong somewhere in my body. The doctors keep blowing me off about this too but a lymph node doesn't just swell up for nothing I would think. That is why my hope right now is on the ear doctor. Maybe he can shed some light on this subject. My family doctor is checking my lungs, blood, and heart to make sure there are no problems there and I am still waiting on test results. If anyone has any experience with lymph node swelling I would really appreciate some insight on this matter. And blood count was high because I was dehydrated. I drink water but I guess I wasn't drinking enough.
