For the second month in a row, I placed my order with Walgreens for my Keppra and when I went to pick it up, I was told "sorry, we don't have ANY keppra in the parmachy". Last month, they sent me on a wild goose chase all over town. I talked to the pharmacist who told me they are "trying" to rush an order, but if it doesn't work out, come tomorrow I will be without any of my meds. I am wondering if something is up with Walgreens or are other pharamcies doing this too. Because of my insurance, I can't request my Rx be filled in advance...seems like a dangerous game for me getting caught in the middle of these two.
I did sent a email of complaint to the head office and talked to the pharmacist. Told her in light of this being Epilepsy awareness month, they shouldn't miss out on a opportunity to train their staff about E and the importance of the meds.

I take Keppra also and have my Rx filled at Walgreens as well, but I've never been told they don't have any Keppra. A few times they haven't had enough to fill the full script, but enough to get me through for a few days, at least. They have the rest of it within several days. Can you talk with your insurance and tell them you need to have your prescription filled early so this doesn't happen again?

I've NEVER

had that happen with ANY scrip for my E meds. Had it happen with an antibiotic once, but it was an unusual one, don't remember the name of it at the time.

Hopefully you'll get some sort of results from the office. I honestly think you're getting the run-around. Perhaps you need to change pharmacies???

Did you try Mail Order

I never had problems with CVS but my Neuro never wanted me to be w/out so I went to Mail Order with 90 day prescriptions. You save a lot on your co pay and you never run out. I did this with my other meds and I love it. However, it was a STRUGGLE to get my Keppra on mail order. Once I did though it was worth it. Ask your Ins who they use.

I actually have an insurance company that has a mail order that saves $0! What benefit is it, then? I called and talked to pharmarcist today. She swears that only me and one other person that uses the pharmcary takes Keppra. She said I can call her a week ahead of time for her to order. I worry about that, something else I will forget! I am frustrated!

OK...

Even so, Mail orders are 90 day supplies and it's automated, which is why my NEURO suggested it and why I am recommending it

There were two times when I visited CVS, and they had a shortage of Keppra, but they did give me enough pills to last three days. Since my doctor switched me to Keppra XR, I haven't had any problems getting my prescription filled, and I faithfully use the coupon UCB Pharmaceuticals gave out online. Every dollar counts!

I remember when I used mail order with my other insurance company and the pills got lost in the mail....it wasn't seizure meds....but the insurance company wouldn't allow me to get pills locally....had to wait to the pills to show up weeks later. I decided at that time, it wasnt worth the $5 I saved to have to deal with lost mail situations.
