I didn't really see myself as a disabled person because my dad raised me with the same standards as my healthy brother. In some ways it helped me a lot and in some ways it didn't. My behavior developed like healthy people yet I grew up having unrealistic expectations on myself. There were just some things seizures were not going to let me do. Well I got married and had 2 kids but my seizures are too frequent to keep a job. I'm thankful that my parents didn't put me with special ed children, because I heard that it can actually hurt children's growth and development.
