No time is a good time but do your seizures happen at the worst time? It seems as if mine have lately. A week ago yesterday, a lady from my dentist office came to pick me up to take me back to the dentist. When she drove up and I started to her car, I had a seizure that made me fall. I found out later that it scared her to death because no one had told her that I have seizures. I had planned on telling her when we got started but I didn't get a chance because the seizure beat me to it. As it turned out, my dentist had forgotten to tell her also but she called him during my seizure and he walked her through it. Then today, a serviceman was here to help me with a plumbing problem and it happened again. I had planned on telling him in case I had one while he was here but again, I didn't get a chance to before the seizure kicked in. It scared him too. Both of these made me feel so bad for them. I just hated that it happened although I didn't have a warning either time so I couldn't prepare them ahead of time. I apologized and explained everything to them. Both of them also said it was a good learning experience for them and for me not to feel bad but I still do. Do your seizure happen at the worst of times?

I'm very sorry to hear that you had seizures today, but take my word I've seizures at some bad times once while I was checking out at the store and I just stood there doing nothing for a few seconds holding up the line and at the public school where I work I've had many seizures in front of students and staff. Just like you I always make it a point to share my seizures and explain them to others so they won't be afraid in case I do have one. Personally I think people need to know much more about epilepsy and how seizures can effect that person. Over the 45 yrs. I've had seizures I think the world has kept to quiet about epilepsy and its time for others to learn about it. Wishing you only the best of luck and May God Bless You!

I've had a seizures at the beach, during a parade, at work. I've had them in less public places as well. I had one happen just AFTER I'd been swimming alone in a lake. I have to say the timing of that one was pretty darn good....

I've had several in places I didn't want to happen, 3 whilst on duty with my fire brigade. 2 were whilst we were responding to a job and the last was whilst we were undertaking car crash training - me acting as the car crash victim due to my experience with car accidents and extracting victims from them. I was lucky I had an aura as it gave me enough time to turn the engine off and collapse outside of the truck I was in. Had I not had the aura, there was every chance I would have hit the accelerator and really caused an incident as the truck was required to be in gear to make the training as real as possible. - that last seizure wound up putting me on restricted duties due to an order from the state HQ so I can't get on the big red thing until I get a full clearance from my Eptologist. I was expecting it but broke down when my Captain told me that it had been escalated straight to the state commissioner (highest ranking person in my fire service) and his decision was that.
I have also had seizures on the bus and even during a date with my girlfriend. Lucky for me, I had trained her in what to do and what to expect as I keep a video of me having a seizure on my phone and tablet for when I need to train someone or tell someone about it.

Unfortunately, my complex partials occur w/o any auras, so unless there is a witness or I do something to myself or my surroundings I have no idea when one has occurred. For this reason, they can be very dangerous--I've even burned myself severely during some of them (2nd & 3rd degree) 5 or 6 times.
