Well... without using the words the doc said I was sounding dumb! Just kidding! He did say my cognitive ability was not anywhere near what it was the last time we met and that concerned him. I explained the siezures and showed him the journal I have been keeping. With all of that information I will be slowly lowering my dose of Topamax and increasing my Vimpat as well as slowly increasin a new medication Lexapro. I will go see him again in 6 or 8 weeks (cant remember which it is right now) and a couple things need to have happened. My migraines need to have stayed gone (Topamax dose), cognitive ability restored, and of course seizure control (Vimpat). If not, I will for sure move to Lamictal from Topamax, and not sure if Vimpat will change or not. Lexapro is because I don't care, and that is not like me. I guess whatever is whatever and it is what it is...

I hope the med changes help. It's great that you had the journal to show him -- it can really make it clear to the doc what's been going on.

I hope they help too. I am nervous about this anti depressant though. I think I need it, but I want to try and figure out these other drugs first.

I was actually a little suprised that the doc noticed how much of my cognitive ability was different. I haven't seen him for a while and he has a ton of patients. Either I stand out or he really does pay attention. Either way, that isn't something he can pick up from reading notes on a chart.

My journal was more of notes. He did say it could be more detailed but it was more then he gets from some. I had dates and it was definately enough to let him know what was going on as far as the drugs working and such.

Oh, and it was figured out that I lost a total of 60 pounds on Topamax...I am not 60 pounds lighter then when I started but the overall weight loss I experienced was that much. I had a little weigh gain before I went up to 100mg. So yeah...Crazy!
