So ...went to the doc yesterday ... internist, not neuro, at this point

she is doing a whole whack of tests and wants me to lose a significant amount of weight and get my asthma under control ... and then if I still persist in doing the FDGB thing, will investigate that as well.

On the plus side, she listens - and she doesn't believe in the BS approach that my family doc subscribes to - actually showed me records of past tests - all of which my doc had told me were "fine, no issues" and none of which actually were... I knew damn well he was lying to me...and sure enough...

I love the get healthy first approach.
It sure is helping my daughter raise her threshold.

Yup. I totally agree! One thing I've learned over the years is that metabolism plays a significant role in how quick some medications are in one's system. So, if you are losing weight, do it slowly and gradually. I recently lost at least 10 pounds myself in spite of one friend sending me sweets (Nasty) which I did not eat. I regularly get exposed to donuts at work and I picture that commercial where the person has buttocks with 2 donuts back there.

It might interest you to know there's a significant relationship between stress, quality of sleep and lack of sleep. Apnea can tax one's body of energy and a cpap may help pick up the energy level. A cpap forces air into a nasal passage to prevent apnea. I also quit diet caffeinated drinks.

Here's a good mental image to keep in mind: Would you rather be overweight with poor breathing and end up in a hospital on the breathing apparatus; or would you rather be proactive and lose weight now? Trust me. I had chest pains which were not a heart attack, but needless to say, I did lose weight after spending 3 days in a hospital with a nasty headache from nitroglycerin running through my body.
