Does anyone else feel "off" for a long while after a Simple Partial Seizure?

I'm writing this because I've recently had two seizures just 9 days apart, the closest it's been in a long time. Simple Partial.

I usually feel kinda "off" for up to a week after a simple partial seizure. My anxiety is heightened, my thoughts/memories are jumbled, I get a low mood. The best way to describe it is as if my brain has been put into a blender and trying to repair itself. I kinda still feel "seizure-y" or so to speak, lol.

Does anyone else feel crappy for a while after an SP? I know it's "normal" to feel shit after a Grand Mal, but I don't see much in the way of people feeling bad after an SP so I'm just curious to know that I'm not alone.

I've been struggling this week, I think maybe because I was only just getting over the after effects of one seizure before I had another and it's made me feel even worse. I'm really just trying to put it to the back of my mind and get on with it but it's really hard.

How long to the affect effects of a Simple Partial last for you?

I have partials, that can be bad, and grand mals. I can have more than one seizure a week more than one a day too. Depending on how many I had, how long they lasted and how bad they were I can be out of it for a few hours to a few days. I'll forget things or if I remember them they can be all jumbled up in my head.

I try not to let my seizures and after effects get me down so I know that helps with keeping a positive mood in general. I might even get a laugh in at times about how my brain just isn't working right. I think my family gets more upset when I've had a seizure than I do.

I'm still struggling to identify my seizures and they only become apparent because I feel like crap for a long while after.

After the complex partials I had earlier this summer it took a full month for me to be okay again. Which sounds crazy, but is true. I'm not sure how many I had or how close together they were but my neurologist says I was probably having clusters of them. I felt like you describe above plus I spent the first week sleeping 16-20 hours a day. my anxiety was the worst it has ever been.

The complex partials are controlled by medication now, but it looks like I am probably having simple partials now either related to stress or migraines. The after effects last time lasted 5 days. No anxiety or low mood any more, but fatigue, dizziness, nausea, speech and memory problems. It's not debilitating, not like the complex partials were, but I feel decidedly awful. Hopefully my test results will help me make better sense of it.

But yes, I feel lousy for a long while after any seizure.

lingering

same as you the effects stay around for a while sometimes weeks, I call it brain scramble my niece calls it a melt-down.. can't think and make the right words come out, it affects me at work, supervisors notice. I'm in that state a lot lately

It all depends how long the seizure lasts.
The longer the seizure the worse I feel. Like the others it's usually a feeling of confusion.

For me it depends on how many I have. Mine are nocturnal and tend to "cluster"; I can have as many as 8-10 in one night. More than 1-3 in a night leave me feeling fatigue, weakness, etc. the next day. Also, sometimes a simple partial becomes a complex partial and these are more likely to leave me feeling fatigued, weak and generally "off" as you say the next day.

For me, how long I feel "off" depends on which type of seizure (simple or complex partial)I had & how strong it was. I'm usually fine after the simple partials within 5-15 minutes.
