Does anyone have any ideas for safety?

I have recently started having drop attacks, and my neurologist, who I am hoping to change, just said they were unusual and basically brushed it off. Anyway, yesterday I had a drop attack and was very close to hitting my head on the side of a table in the hallway.

I had to go to A&E and I have fractured my scaphoid bone from the fall We live with my grandparents, and me and mum discussed last night what safety measures we could take to prevent me from hitting my head on corners of tables etc.

My grandparents have a lot of stuff and a lot of tabes and boxes, basically the only rooms that me and mum can make safe without their consent are our bedrooms and the living room we have.

Everywhere else, like the bathroom, the kitchen, the hallways etc are my grandparents things, so we would have to ask them. But we can't change everything around because my grandad has Alzheimers and moving things around makes it worse for him.

I am also advised not to go out alone, so I can't go out on my own to the shops. I understand why, and this is only until I am stabilised. Now I'm a glass half full kinda girl, but the neurologist said it can obviously take a while to find the right dosage for these meds to work.

Now, I love spending time with my mum but even she admits that there are times I am not going to want to have someone with me all the time. We have looked into seizure precaution dogs, but they take up to a year (or so we understand) to get, and we sort of need a solution ASAP.

I have looked online at other dogs for sale and have found one which has been housetrained and is a very easy to train dog, and she is a German Shepherd which my friend has, and her dog picks things up so quickly.

Of course, we have to ask my grandparents but that means breaking it in slowly, otherwise they will just say no. Which kinda sucks when we sort of need something soon, but that's life eh!

Does anyone else have any ideas? I would be very grateful

stair gate at the top of the stairs just I case, and if you can get hold of the baby safety kits or just look for corner cushions think there called for corners if the tables they just slip on so would be no damage, my landlord has also put temperature cut out in for the taps so I don't get burned, I know nothing too do with drops but yiu never know , if you get no aura think before you go really if you can take path too avoid do it if you get me walk long way round, I just avoid everything by a good metre where spce allows if I think of anything else I'll let ya know hope I've helped....

Unfortunately, you can't wrap yourself in bubblewrap, and you can't be a complete hermit... Maisy's suggestions are great. And if you can swing it, a companion dog can stay with you if you do fall, and make you feel better when you come out of it.

I will talk with my family about the dog soon. My mum understands how a dog will be of importance but its my grandparents who will be skeptical :/
