With the problem with my skin, I have been researching cause on the internet...I know I will call my doctor on Monday.
One item that came up over and over is Lupus. Looking on symptoms, seizures are one. I just wondering if anyone on here also have Lupus.

I have what my rheumatologist calls "underlying autoimmune activity," which she is watching to make sure it doesn't develop into lupus. I also test positive for antiphospholipid antibodies which is a blood clotting disorder that may or may not be related to lupus. While my neurologist doesn't think the "scar" on my brain is related to it, I disagree. I tend to think the clotting disorder may have caused a mild hidden stroke at some point which developed scar tissue and led to the seizure problem. I now take a baby aspirin every day and am on plaquenil to control the antiphospholipid antibodies. When I specifically asked the neurologist about it, he agreed that it was possible.

The more I read about Lupus, I think it is possiblity that I have had this underlying for awhile. My history was that I had freak fall walking my dog. Had double compound fractures, which was hampered because I kept developing multiple bacteria infections that were gettting into my bones. I was on strong antibotics via port for 2 years and then a series of oral meds. Infectionous Disease doc was very concerned about my ability to fight any kind of infection, but he released me over a year ago. My neuro does blood tests and he has been concerned because my liver counts are off. He thinks it is related to pain meds I have been on for years. I also see pain management doc for chronic pain. When I read the seizures if made me wonder about Lupus. Doc all say no way to know why the seizures started at a point where my health is on upswing. They thought maybe one of infections or the meds did neurologic damage.
Thanks for your info. jenn

Meds definitely can mess your liver counts up. I personally am hoping that if I can get the underlying autoimmune issue under control, maybe it will take care of the seizure problem. I'm hoping anyway.
