Just typed an entire message and lost it...here goes again...
Background: As an newborn, I had seizures for no known reason. I was on phenobarbitol for 6 months and then weened off.
Present: Just yesterday, and sometimes this occurs monthly, I had an odd experience. I had been up cooking dinner and went to sit down at the computer. Once sitting, my eyes started moving involuntarily for about 10 seconds. Sort of a figure 8 motion that caused dizziness. I was fully aware of what was going on. When I could finally see normal again, I felt nauseous and I had a dull pain in my eyes (which I am still feeling). I had an awesome nights sleep last night! This happened to me once while on the phone with my mom. Again, I knew what was going on, but for those 10 seconds or so, I couldn't quite get the words out to tell her what was going on. Everything felt like it was in slow motion, my thinking was slow, and while I could verbalize, I couldn't spit out what was happening.
Childhood to present: Around the 4th grade, I started having migraines monthly with the aura, a spinning mass in front of my eyes. It would cause me to feel sick, vomit, then I would have to sleep off the headache. When I would awaken, I would have that slow, hard to think feeling for a day or so. Those migraines seemed to stop around the time I started my period. I would have one occasionally, but not monthly. I still get them sporadically. Sometimes with a headache, sometimes just the aura, but always followed my a slow, mental fog. I think that those could be related to hormones. Until reading on this board today, I never thought hormones and seizures were related. Don't know if that is the case with me, but just throwing it out there. I also always get a migraine with aura anytime I do high cardio exercise. Always. And always have the mental fog and sore eyes.
On a side note: The same experience I had with seizures as an infant happened with my daughter as a newborn (now 6 yrs). She was weened off phenobarbitol at age 3 mos. She is seeing a neurologist in March for some random experiences of upset stomach, ringing and hissing in her ears (which I also experience sometimes), breaking out in a cold sweat, twice she vomited and one time fell and had a minor jerking of her head. Her episodes always happen in the morning.
So, that is my story. I have NO IDEA if any of this could be seizure related, so I am hoping for some feedback.
Should I see my doctor about this?
I don't assume this would get any better, but could it get worse over time?
Any info, advice, stories, guidance, anything would be appreciated!
