Driving question

Today whilst I was driving to work I had a sensation that all the trees and other objects around me were moving. It was like I was the one that was still and they were moving past.
I remember it happening when I was learning to drive 18 years ago and it's happened sporadically ever since. I've just never mentioned anything to my neurologist or anyone else for fear that I wouldn't be allowed to drive
I don't feel light headed or anything but it's just weird.
Because I have had Epilepsy since I was a baby I often don't know what is NORMAL and what is Epilepsy related. It has always been said i've had tonic clonic seizures but in the last few years I have wondered if i've had partials or other types as well.

How often does the sensation last? Does it make it hard to drive? Has it happened with someone else in the car? Does it happen if you are riding as a passenger, or on a bus or train? It may be a motion sensitivity or a light sensitivity that could be related to your epilepsy, perhaps an aura-type sensation that would comparable to a Simple Partial.

Before I had a tonic-clonic and was diagnosed with epilepsy I had very, very infrequent visual auras and motion jerks. They were so rare and so tiny, that I disregarded them entirely. In theory, I only have tonic-clonics too, but I think those other sensations were seizures or seizure-like activity too. Since being on meds I haven't had them at all though.

I use to call them micro-seizures, They kind reminded me of that small earthquake sensation.
Always left me with feeling was it real or did I imagine that.
A lot more common for me.

I know that I'll have times where I'll be in the house and it seems like the couch is on the wrong side of the room or the things that I have sitting on the shelves or hanging on the walls are wrong or will move to different places in the room. I know what's going on in general but it's just wierd in general, I know that something with me is not right.

I think they are seizures, just little itty bitty ones. I'm going to ask the neuro about them when I see him next month.

I don't know how bad these effect you. I would mention these to your neuro. If they are getting worse or more often then something seirous might happen. You could wreck the car, wreck into someone else and have the possibality of hurting some one or even killing them.

I've had epilepsy for going on 8 years now and haven't been able to drive since. It's just something that you have to learn to deal with. Luckily my family and friends are there to help me get around.

In my opionion it's better not to drive than to drive and have a seizure and end up killing someone. Deffently mention this to your neuro.
