A couple months ago my nuero had a MRI, 2 MRA's, a CT scan and a EKG done on me. All in one day. I remember the nurse asking me if I had ever had any flip flo0pping in my heart feelings and I told her yes. It had never really concerned me. Well they have now set me up for a EKG at the rural hospital here that's only 20 miles away so when I see them on the 25th they will have the results (they are 55 miles away). I I'm not sure if this might have something to do with E or my stroke since he takes care of both and the stroke caused the E. Have any of you ever had an EKG taken for your E? JUst wondering. :ponder: Thanks!
That day a couple months ago I also had an EEG (sleep deprived). The MRA's were of arteries in my right neck and right side brain.

Purely speculating here, but I would assume that the EKG isn't directly associated with your Epilepsy. It can, however, help to diagnose problems with your heart that led, or can lead, to strokes. If your epilepsy is a side effect of a stroke, then an EKG is an important tool to stop further damage by way of stroke, and thus worsening of your epilepsy.

With all the different tests they have done and still are doing to be talked about at our appt. on the 25th I am at a lose. I just know that the circulatory system has a lot to do with the way the brain functions as well as everything else so that why I wondered if anyone had ever encountered anything like that. Your explanation sounds good though. I only have 17 days left to make since of all these tests. :)

I have had an EKG taken because of my E before. When I end up in the E/R and tell them I also have Afib irregular heartbeat they also do an EKG on me.along with being hooked up having all other test done.I can't have a MRI they have to do other test because I have pacemaker.
