Heading out today to Camp FlameCatcher. This is a week long camp for kids with epilepsy in southwest Ohio. My wife and I decided to volunteer as councilors for the week. Not sure what we are going to be doing, but hope for a fulfilling week of helping others.

For many of these kids, this will be there only vacation of the year. I have been told they love it because they are all fighting the same battle. They can go to this camp and not face any judgement from others. PLUS, it sounds like they have a lot of really great things for them to do.

I will fill you all in when I return. Really looking forward to this. Wish us luck on this mission.

Sounds like a lot of fun. :mrt:

It appears as if they are spreading around the US. They now have 'Camp Frog' for kids with epilepsy here in Pennsylvania. I think this is a great way for kids to have real friends face to face fighting this disorder. Being outdoors is probably a refreshing place for them as well.

Good luck at the camp! I hope it's a terrific experience.

It sounds

like it is going to be tons of fun, Buckeye. I do believe there are a few camps opening up in Indiana as well, but they aren't well-known yet. The only one that I do know of here is Camp Millhouse in South Bend......
