Quieter squeeky wheels or just less high profile advocates?

Most of the existing research has gone toward developing anticonvulsant drugs, but these have serious side effects and more than a third of epilepsy sufferers get no relief from them. Epilepsy causes more than 50,000 deaths a year — more than breast cancer.

Excellent article. 50,000 epilepsy related deaths a year, more than breast cancer...that's staggering! If the public can't understand the difficulty and downright devastation epilepsy visits upon its sufferers, that statistic should at least get some attention:e:
