I woke up this morning very sore all over like i typically do when I experience a Gran Mal, I did not bite my tounge, and I did not have a headache or feel cloudy. Could this still have been a seizure if i lacked my normal range of symptons?

Its possible. I've had a seizure during the night and it woke my wife but I had no clue that I had it until she told me the next morning.

I have most of my seizure activity at night. Like you, I wake up feeling as if I have been hit by a truck! I also can't form a sentence or read for the better part of the day, but we are all different. What I may feel will totally different from what you feel. Do you have any pending neurologist visits? Just make sure to mark all of this down for your next visit.

my seizures are mostly nocturnal. in the morning most of the time i feel like i've been hit by a truck too.

but i did have one where i didnt bite my tongue, maybe it was just the way you were laying? and i find if it happens right after i fall asleeep, by the time i wake up 6-8 hours later the cloudiness is gone. still sore though.

so maybe it was just a less severe tc?

Maybe you should speak to your Neurologist about sending you for a sleep study to determine what's causing your night seizures and how many you have during the night.

Re Having seizures during your sleep: Could be due to lack of oxygen to the brain while you sleep from sleep aids such as certain anti-epileptic drugs, sleeping pills, severe snoring or some sort of restriction to the airway.

I have been dx'd with Chronic Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
After my sleep disorders test the Dr. showed me the EEG from that one night, I would stop breathing up to 50 times/hour and had 3 seizures and that I was waking up "post ictal" (moody and spaced out) tired, lethargic, (feel like crap)
I have purchased a CPAP machine (Constant Positive Air Pressure)as recommended by my Doctor, which provides constant air pressure and have noticed a vast improvement.
No more snoring (the whole family sleeps better now), more energy when I wake up, better REM sleep, improved memory (less short term memory loss), and most of all ~ NO MORE NIGHT SEIZURES.

I usually only have my tcs nocturally now. I rarely bite my tongue any more but I usually feel like I've been run over. Sometimes my left side will be part paralyzed, ill have migraines, other misc side effects will occur the following day. I encourage journaling as it can be so inconsistent.

Hope you feel better. :)
