?? Epilim (sodium valproate) THREE TIMES A DAY ?!?!?!

title says it all really

ive just had my epilim increased from:
200mg - @ 8am
200mg - @ 8pm

but i landed in the emergency room after being status and they have now told me to increase my dose to:

200mg - @ 8am
200mg - @ 1pm
200mg - @ 8pm

i have never heard of it being three times a day ?
this worries me but i cant get to see the dr till monday eveing now
anyone have any experience with epilim ?

I take Epilim twice a day 2 tablets in the morning 500mg each as well as the same at night making a total off 2000mg a day as well as 800mg off Tegratol per day.

No i don't like the Epilim,im sure its the cause off my tiredness and know for a fact its to do with my weight gain.But ive had breakthrough seizures on this dose so getting the doctor or neuro to reduce it is pointless.

Id rather be seizure free than seizing in the middle off the road.

i have had such and increased appatite i eat loads and loads and loads lol ... nevermind

i was doing really well as i hadnt had any tonic-clonics for a while and though the epilim was working but then i went status on shop floor aat work ... im mortified ... im dreading going back to work on monday ..why? becuase they administered rectal diazepam on shop floor !!!
how embarassin .... im sure it was just a breakthrough seizure and hopully the increase will help ...

Thats a shame,but hey don't be ashamed remember it's not your fault.These things happen to us with the "condition" With any luck,as you say the increase will help,and help stop your seizures.

I forgot to mention i take diazapam 5mg in the morning and 5mg at night,which i think really helps as stress is a big trigger for me.Perhaps you could look into that.

So go into work with your head held high on monday,sometimes the slightest tweak can do wonders.But i know where your coming from a seizure in public is bad enough,let along the rest of what you had to go through.

they are just epilim EC 200mg

Man. What a horrible experience for you. Well, I'm sure if your co-workers didn't take your seizures seriously before they do now.
I hope you are feeling ok and I hope the increase in meds works for you.

Well this is the second day taking the new dose Im feeling ....odd .... Very tired more so than usual and i feel a little bit tearfull bUt other than that no problems and .... "drum roll plz". ... No seizures for a whole day not even partials ... Yippy !!!!

Wow, what a shock for u...My Son had daytime T/C at work a while back and yes his lady colleague administered the pump....she is angel in my eyes, he on same med as you and Neil, 1200mg per day and looks like we are heading to slight increase due to break throughs 4-7 weeks, 1500mg per day, he takes it spread out to 3 times a day..
