It seems so long since I have posted and felt like me. If I have offended anyone (I saw a couple post) I am so sorry.
I started keppra way back the beginning of March at 1000mg daily. Its the only place I and my hospital neuro can see where things started going wrong.
I had lots of problems after a while and they took me down to 500mgs for a little bit. Didn't help so down to 250mg and 1 week later totally off. They upped my trileptal and lamictal at the same time. I only know this because I discussed it with the nurse Thursday when I went to fill my meds so I could understand more what the paper they gave me to give n/e says. I had a few seizures the beginning of the month but then the 15th I had 1 seizure and was very sick. The 16th I had 2 seizures and after the second was taken by ambulance to the hospital of wich I don't remember anything but being told to lift my but up so they could put a bed pan beneath me and being told to pee. I was there several hours my daughter said but they released me even though I cant remember anything. The place I live sent me to that hospital. I have told them never to. They don't understand seizures. Extremely small hospital (town only 3,000 pop.). I barely remember anything after having seizures the next day and being paranoid really badly. The next day my daughter came and told them she was taking me to Springfield (Il capital) to the hospital. They didn't want her too. Said it was only health related. My daughter wanted psych and health evaluation. She took me anyway. I had been so paranoid I thought everyone around me was in a conspiracy against me. Even my cat. I thought she was a robot reporting to headquarters about me. I even called realitives and left messages on answering machine letting them know they were "in on it". I was admitted that night to the psych ward (not a bad place there). I guess I slept the first few days. They apparently did a cat scan during this time and an EEG when I awakened.. I saw medical and neuro drs. while there. I came home on April 24th. I have felt in such a haze over the last few weeks. A little at a time it has been lifting.
I go to my N/E apt tommarow to see whats going on.
While in the hospital, blood work did show my trileptal and lamictal was to high, both of which had been upped not long ago. So they were lowered and a low dose of klonopin added. I havnt had a seizure since so we will see what he says tommarow. :e:
