2 questions- the first is whether you tend to notice your childs seizures happening on a bit of a predictable schedule (my daughter seems to have a complex partial every 7-9 days or so).

Also I was just curious if anyone else felt like their young kids could sometimes tell when a seizure is coming on-my daughter's EEG abnormalities have always been temporal lobe and i know that can manifest in strange ways in young kids (she's 3.5 years old) but it's been about 8 days since her last seizure and all of a sudden today she in uncharacteristically clingy and whiney. She will perk up for about 10 minutes or so and then goes back to being clingy-since it's been 8 days since she had an episode i am wondering if maybe something is going to happen today and she feels off somehow (like the deja vu feelings etc but obviously she doesn't know what those are enough to put it into words)

It's a good guess that her behavior may be an indication that she's having a seizure, or that as you say she feels off or anxious about having one. Some studies have shown that seizure activity can start building in the brain several hours before it actually shows up as a perceptible symptom.

Interesting about those studies Nakamova, thanks for the info!!!

chmmr my 28month old has been going through a "bad patch" more regularly of late. He seems to "shut down" every Friday but can also have bad patches every now and then at other times but from the journals we keep and the journal his child care keep we have noticed this has been happening for over 10 weeks now.
Interesting about seziure activity building up in the brain.
For our little man his paed thinks it might be the "chemical" imbalance in his brain becomming worse then peaking. She is heading down the theory that his condition is metabolic, along with his brain lesion. He has seen metabolic specialists who also think it quite possibly is metabolic but so far can't find out which one. His nureo is also wondering if it might be metabolic and thinks its worth looking into. Wednesday week we have an appointment with a Nureologist who sepcialises in metabolic research so fingers crossed we get a break thru in his diagnosis.
This site is so amazing as chmmr without posts like yours I know I would think I must be reading to much into things with his event's seemingly happening more regularly lately.
Thanks for the post.

Initially, tonic-clonics were coming every 5-6 weeks, but the last two came after 3 and 4 weeks respectively. Now he's also having multiple complex partials, 1-5 per day, 4-5 days per week (perhaps more, but I have to watch more closely and ask his teachers to do the same).

I think he knows, but we're not sure because he's non-verbal. A few hours before a tonic-clonic, he gets extremely upset and angry, even physically lashing out at one of us. This lasts for about 30-45 minutes, and then a tonic-clonic hits within the next two hours.

EDIT: doctor described these bouts of anger and aggression as a prodrome rather than aura.
