When you have an apetite and you make one of your favourite foods to enjoy, then you sit down and you gag on it to the point you go red in the face.

I don't go in to a seizure, usually I can just push the food away, have 1 or two drinks of water, and I'm fine (I might smell the food when I'm away from it though)

I find this happens more when I've not had an appetite for a while, and suddenly I do and need something to eat

Anybody else?

Sounds like dysphasia, which is a swallowing problem that often accompanies neurological disorders. Talk to your doctor if this problem persists.

Hi Gina, I've never had any problems with foods or appetite. I hope you're not choking. I wonder if taking smaller bites might help? Or softer foods?

I also, haven't ever had any issues with food, appetite, or scents, thankfully. My mother has recently developed issues with swallowing or digesting some foods. Rice & bread are often an issue for her, for example. (She doesn't have epilepsy, though--I'm the only one in our family who does).
