G'Day,

I'm Pingu (obviously not my real name but my nickname) from Australia. I have Grey Matter Heterotopia, I have had seizures since I was 14. I haven't let my condition stop me from living a "normal" life. I am a rural firefighter with a fire brigade and in my spare time, I look after animals and practice my photography, even selling my pictures from time to time. I am a field hockey player too and I love the sport.

I have seizures roughly once a month or so, usually having 2 that day. I have had seizures in the worst places too - On the hockey field but worst of all in the firetruck on the way to a job.

Hopefully I get to meet some of you here and share stories.

Hi, Pingu and welcome! Sounds like you lead an adventurous and interesting life :)
What kind of animals do you look after, and what do you like to take pictures of?

Hi Pingu!

Love the name, it's a nickname my partner occasionally uses for me (no clue why) amongst others, lol. What sports do you like besides hockey? E hasn't kept you down, which is a brilliant thing :)

Nice to meet you!

HI Pingu,

Welcome to CWE. Australia is some place I would love to go hopefully someday soon.
I think it's beautiful there. I've had epilepsy for 44 yrs. and had 2 brain surgeries to help reduce my seizures. I have absence and complex partial seizures and just like you there will be at least 2-3 days each month when I will have seizures. Everyone here is very kind and supportive and they have helped me out a lot. I wish you only the best and May God Bless You!

Hello and welcome!
Firefighting sounds really exciting! And I love photography and it has been a hobby of mine for a few years. They aren't great photographs but that never stops me from shooting haha. I recently got into film and now I love it even more. :D What type of photographs do you take?

Sorry for the late reply but I look after smaller native animals like Lorikeets, Possums and even Fairy Penguins!

As for my photography, I love taking photos of animals and landscapes, slowly moving into portrait photography now for my friends

Apart from hockey, I love Rugby League, I used to play the sport before injuring my neck badly in a tackle and had to stop playing on doctors advice. I also love Australian Rules Football and American Football. Hehe, I pretty much love all sports

I love my animal photography and landscape photography due to the characters you tend to find in some animal species, hehehe

Nice to meet you! This is a great place, I've learned so much and gotten so much help here.

I fed wild Possums for over a year. It was so cute because they knew what time dinner time was and they'd show up at the back door. I could sit on the porch and talk to them while they ate. I started getting skunk and raccoon, who broke into the house, so I had to stop feeding the possum. I felt so bad.

I'm glad epilepsy hasn't kept you from stop doing things!
