When I arrived back in the UK today, I had to do the usual and plough through 4 weeks worth of mail. I spotted one with private and confidential stamped on it, I opened it and as I suspected it was from the department of neurology.

When I read the letter I couldn't believe that they had yet AGAIN postponed my appointment, until April 09. These are the previous dates for the same appointment -

August 08
Sept 08
Oct 08
Jan 09
and now Apr 09 (I am back in the U.S. during this date)

I can understand the appointment being changed once and possibly twice but this is now becoming stupid. I last saw my neurologist Feb 08 and she added in another medication, the Aug 08 appointment was meant to be for a med review to see how I was getting on with it, now they are happy to leave me on a new medication with a review 1 year and 2 months later. The UK health system is one big joke, I do not think that this is acceptable and they will be hearing from me tomorrow.

Lovely... and the powers that be want our health system to move in the direction yours has.

Not acceptable at all. Good luck

Do you think....

Maybe you could make appointments with 2 or 3 other neurologist & the first one you get you into an appointment gets your service.

CM:

Just phone them and notify them
that you had been delayed far too
long and that it is imperative that
you have to be seen sooner than
April 09, and that you would like
to keep the original scheduled date
as it was originally scheduled without
any further ado and it is not possible
for you to be scheduled for April
anyway. That should get you going,
because it did work for one woman
(in another forum) who also is in
UK and received a notification letter
and she phoned it in and was able
to keep her original scheduled date
after I instructed her to be real nice
to them about it and see where it goes
from there ...

Good Luck! And let us know how it
all turned out!
