hi all,

my name is Sharon but I like to be called Cher, I've been having gran mal seizures since april of 1997 they started me on delantin but in august I was switched to Tegretol and then after having 2 in november they put me on Tegretol XR, they gave the XR a chance by april of 98 I was on depakote and it was looking like that had helped but in october I had another seizure and was but on depakote sprinkles and clonazepam.

it was looking like they found the golden ticket, but in February of 07 I had another one and the next time I saw my neurologist she was planed for me to have an MRI and another EEG(my head hurts whenever I think of them). and thats how they found a scare on the left side of my brain, I have no idea how deep it is how long but since november of 2008 I've had 3 seizures and my neurologist has sent me to an epilepsy specialist.

Hi Cher, welcome to the forum. :hello:

Sorry to hear about your seizure activity. Hopefully you will find what you need here (whether information or peer support).

thank you for the nice welcome bernard.

I might just have my mom join since she has a seizure disorder as well, she pretty much blames herself for everything I'm going though(she stopped around june of last year).

A genetic disposition doesn't necessarily have to equate to a lifetime realization.

My wife's family has a history of epilepsy through her mother's side going back several generations. She has managed to achieve much better seizure control than her mother did. There are options out there for those who are willing to try them. Have a look here:
