Hi Folks,

Thanks to my employer changing the health ins. I won't be able to get my meds, they put the prescription plan over to a company that has over $5 million in lawsuits and 5 drug co. are suing them, this in turn has increased the price of meds so much I can't afford them anymore and I have no choice other than slowly going off the meds and hope nothing happens. I've spoken with other ins. co. but they won't do just prescription coverage only I have to buy the entire policy and I don't need that.
I hope none of you have to go through the same mess I have to deal with. Thanks for letting me vent and I wish all of you only the best. May God Bless You!

Oh no, Porkette! There should be standalone policies, like there is for dental or vision. Can Medicaid help? If nothing else, try the discount cards. There's several companies that offer it; it just can't be used with insurance. People with insurance could use it if they told the pharmacy that they were paying cash for it, but some pharmacies (like Walmart) wouldn't do it.

Hi Daroswene,

Thanks for your concern. I can't get Medicaid because I am working and the discount cards won't help me at all since some sz. meds are over $4 grand and another is over $1000.00 and I only make a little over a $1000.00 take home pay bi weekly. I have no choice but to say good bye seizure meds but I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your concerns. May God Bless You!

Sue, so sorry to hear this. Have you let your neuro know?

I'm so sorry to hear this Sue!! I just hope some other door opens for you soon! Take care and best wishes always!

Hi Nakamova,

I just found this out on Friday so I haven't been able to get ahold of my neuro plus I'm also changing neuros since the one I was seeing was 103 miles away from my home and I was told they couldn't do anymore for me. I'm now having my med records transferred to a local neuro and I have to wait to see her. All I can say is I hope the hemp oil will control the seizures since I won't be able to buy anything else. Thanks for your concern and May God Bless You!

working out twice a day, shorter, low intensity helped me.

CBD oil

There are quite a few online pharma's out there that sell meds. You may need to research them, for quality and other issues......But you are able to buy what you need or similar meds online. See the links

------------ Careful with ADC members have had strange credit card charges after using them. (this has not seemed to be an issue as of late)

try to "let go" in a sense, I not longer worry about my job. My health, my home........Things are going to be as they are.

I try to do what i can, but worrying & fretting about your stress only makes it worse.

it re-cycle and take you with it, just making the problem at hand worse.

Contact the pharmaceutical companies also. Sometimes they can help or at least point you in a direction that can help.

Hi gymrat827,
Thanks for the info. I've been on tegretol, trileptal and lamictal and I'm allergic to each of these drugs. I took tegretol for yrs. and broke out with a rash yrs. later from the drug so I tried the other 2 and I broke out with a rash from both of those also. After my DNA test was done my Epileptologist found out I was drug resistant to all seizure meds that are out on the market right now. I really appreciate all of your help. Thanks again. I wish you only the best and May God Bless You!

check with your neurologist a lot of times the drug companies have programs to help financially, not sure about seizure meds

Hi seizing more,
I will be seeing a new neuro soon and I've been told by my health ins. co. that it's my employer that cut the prescription program to a cheap one where the employer doesn't have to pay much but the employees do and that's what has hurt me and my co workers.
Thanks for your help and time. May God Bless You!

the dollar amount you need to be under is very slim. If i made that little of money i would never be able to pay for a seizure with an ER run from an ambulance.

Even co-pays to the ER can be 200/300/400 and then you are sometimes charged for individual tests that your insurance didnt see necessary.

Or this is my experience with 2 companies.
