My daughter Elle is 11, almost 12 & has JME. We thought her t/c & myoclonus in her waking cycle were under control with 500mg Depakote twice a day & klonipin .5 at bedtime. Well she's jerking again in her sleep and now I also suspect she is having simple partials. Her MRI was normal last June, the EEG showed generalized seizure activity, but from what I read simple partials are from a specific area of the brain & not generalized. Am I wrong? Anybody else have JME with generalized spikes and also have simple partials?

You are right that simple partials are in one part of the brain. I mostly just get simple partials, and they sometimes generalize, so you can have both. That's why simple partials are also called auras, because they start in one part and then might generalize... mine usually stop at the simple partial, but for a lot of people it starts to generalize.
