I boil a pot of hot water and breathe in the steam. I'll also take Benedryl to knock me out if the congestion makes it hard to sleep, although from what I've read on here Benedryl isn't great for seizures so I'm not so sure about that one anymore.

My neuro told me not to take Benadryl because it causes me to become so agitated. She is afraid it might provoke a seizure.
Try adding a few drops of eucaltptus oil to the boiling water or even better, go in the bathroom and turn on the shower, using only hot water, close the door, and add several drops of eucaltpus to the tub. Sit down and read a book for at least several minutes and it will really help with the congestion. It doesn't smell very good but it really helps. You can also put a drop or 2 into a cool mist vaporizer.
