Not the monday just gone but the one before. I’d apparrantly gone to bed then at some point somehow gone into the living room. I had a migraine so lay down on the couch and I was very wobbly and off balance like I am after a seizure when I went to go back to bed so my sister helped me, my memory was screwed I couldn’t remember where mum was or anything. I was very confused which only happens when I’ve had a seizure. Nobody saw it sadly. I know what it wasn’t. It wasn’t a tonic clonic because my muscles ache after those every time and my muscles were fine. Some kind of epileptic seizure but no idea what type. A game of guesse the seizure anyone? Lol. Mum got the date of my appointment with the epilepsy nurse wrong too it is in fact on monday. Epilepsy I hate you, epilepsy enough is enough no more seizures this year please. Epilepsy nurse will no doubt tell me to start upping my keppra I’m sticking with calling it that because that is easier to remember and spell than the posh name for it. We are already ahead of her there as we have started upping it this week because my neurologist said anymore seizures and he is happy for us to up it to 1000mg without his guidance. I’m currently on I think 820mg.

Hi Buddy's owner,

I'm wondering if you had a myoclonic seizure these are the types of seizures that happen when you first go to bed and then again after you wake up in the morning. I didn't realize I was having these types of seizures until I kept feeling tired in the morning after I goods night sleep so my Epileptologist did a sleep study on me and found I was having seizures in my sleep 1-2 hrs. before I would wake up. You may be having the same problem, you might want to call your neuro and ask for a sleep study to be done. The only other thing that sounds similar to this is a complex partial seizure and when I have them I often get up and wander around and when the seizure is over I will find myself in a different room sometimes. I found that taking keppra increased my seizures but once I went on vimpat the myoclonic seizures stopped and the complex partials decreased a lot. I wish you only the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue

It does sound like you had a complex partial. The type and number of seizures that a person has can change over time.
I've had simple partial seizures since childhood. I suddenly had tonic clonics seizures (just 3 or 4) when I was a teenager, & haven't had any since. Their occurrence helped diagnose my simple partials. About 17 years ago, I began having complex partial seizures.

It sounds exactly like my complex partial seizures. My memory and balance are off during them. I end up in a different room. I usually get a bad headache that won't go away, no matter what medicine I take. I don't think mine are migraines since there's no nausea, vomiting, light or sound sensitivity. It's right along my eyebrow and sometimes causes me to close that eye because of pain.

A few years ago I started walking during my seizures. I'll be in one room of the house and when I come to I'll be in another room. There have been times when I've had a seizure during the day that I've been in the living room and when I come to I'm in bed with my clothes on.

I don't know if I'm having a full blown partial or if I'm just starting to go into it or come out of one but I know what's going on and I'm very confused. I'll look at the clock and see it's 6:00. It will be 6pm but I think it's 6am so I start to I'll get in bed even though it's light outside instead of dark.

I don’t know what seizures I’m having but had another last night. Went to see my epilepsy nurse yesterday she said up my meds again then I’ll be on 1000 mg, turns out I’m currently on 825mg.

Do you think I went walkies during the seizure then?

My memory and balance was off after it. Mum asked me this morning if I had headache before the seizure 2 weeks ago I can’t remember but my sister told mum I did on the phone.

Walking around during a complex partial is possible. I had one where I actually answered the door & accepted a UPS package. When I 'came to', I asked my husband "when did this package arrive?" He was home at the time, but didn't immediately realize that I was having seizure.

Maybe I did go walkies then. I obviously wasn’t aware because I don’t remember how I got from my bedroom to the living room. Latest seizure I was in bed and came round in bed so no idea what last night seizure was.

The very first time I burned myself in a complex partial, I definitely walked during it. Just before the seizure, I had 2 boiled eggs on a plate, & was sitting on the sofa with it. The next thing I knew, I was in the same place with an empty plate, & had blisters all over my hands and arms!

Ouch. Hope they healed ok.

Thankfully, those burns healed fine--that was about 16 years ago. Unfortunately, I have burned myself (2nd & 3rd degree) many more times during complex partials since then.

I had one on my bike once tonic clonic seizure landed on the road well you can guesse what damage my head recieved.

It's possible you did.

I had a good walkie just the other night. I was in the kitchen making a sub for my husband's lunch. I put it in the toaster oven to toast the bread and melt the cheese, like they do at Subway. I usually stay out in the kitchen the whole time it's in there but sometime after I'd put it in the toaster oven I'd gone into the living and sat down. My husband thought I was done making it until he smelt something burning and he went into the kitchen and saw that the sub was still in the toaster oven. He hurried up and took it out, he said it was just perfect though.

I don't like to cook on the stove or in the oven when I'm home alone because there have been quite a few times that I've had a seizure while I'm doing it. My has smelt something burning and come into the kitchen and saw me sitting on the floor or I'll have gone into a different room in the house. I will cook in the toaster oven though because I can set it to turn off after a certain amount of time that way if I have a seizure while something's in there I know I won't burn the house down.

One morning a few months ago had a complex partial while preparing my husband & sons' lunches. I recall standing at the counter, organizing everything. The next thing I knew, I was coming to on the floor behind the sofa. Thankfully, the insulated mug with my tea was still on the counter.
