My huband said I called him this morning. I was on the floor next to the bed with the covers. He said my muscles were tensed up but not shaking. He said i called him an hour before i remember him asking me questions and laying next to me on the bed.My mouth hurt I had a severe headache and have no memory of how i ended up on the floor calling him or how i got back on the bed. Been doing really well on klonipin unless I was taking antibiotics . dont know what caused whatever it was this morning.

I never shake when I have a tonic clonic - I just tighten.
I also find that I get more during times when I am on antibiotics because it is brought on by an infection, stress to the body I guess

Thats interesting zara I thought tc seizures always had convulsions.good not to be alone in this

I'm thinking maybe my cycle has caused it this time. before getting on meds they happened way more during that time of the month. My cycles seem to be much more painfull than they used to be.

No, mine have always been stiff, I met some people at the National Epilepsy Society clinic when I was checked in there and it was the same. Apparently it is rarer for the body to completely stiffen - but it is like the whole body is tight and trying to pull upwards - so I am told.

During most of my seizures I blank out and don't know what went on during them. I've been doing something, had the seizure, then end up somewhere else in the house doing something else not realizing any of it.

Just the other day I took a shower, went in the bedroom and got dressed, combed my hair, then went into the living room and sat on the couch and started doing a crossword puzzle. My husband told me I had a seizure after I came out of it because I wasn't responding to him and never dried my hair. Sure enough I felt my hair and it was soaking wet. When I went into the bedroom to dry it my robe and towel were still in there.

I was loading the dishwasher once then came out of the seizure (not knowing I had it) sitting on the couch. The only reason I knew I had a seizure was because the sink still had dishes in it and the door on the dishwasher was open.

In 2003 when I started having seizures I'd have horrible short term memory loss after one. I my have lost hours to days of memory. It's not that bad now except when I have several seizures in a short period of time. My long term memory is very bad though.

After most of my seizures I'll have horrible headaches that will last for hours. If there's no one around to see me have a seizure, since I blank out during it and don't know it happened, but I end up with a headache then I assume I probably had one.

humm i wonder if i have more and dont realise it. I'm home alone most of the time.

Do you keep any type of seizure diary/journal?

I write down the date of all the seizures that I know I had, what happened during them and how long they lasted.

If there are times that I think I might have had a seizure I also write down as much as I can about it. Sometimes I'll get dizzy feelings, confused about what I'm doing, don't really know how to explain these things unless it happens to you too then you'd understand what I mean. Or if it's just that I had a headache.

Doing his can help the dr understand better about what's going on with you and treat it better.

i've actually been doing great for along time, except like i said if i am on antibiotics. being on antibiotics seem to make the meds not works as well . i do have dizzy confused times that was pretty much all day yesterday. still dont have a neuro here the regular doc i was seeing just refilled my meds. probably should get a new neuro. i moved in june. the regular doc here did up the dose of my meds. he didn't say why. i thought i would lower it back down to what the neuro told me to take . that was a bad idea had a seizure the morning after. I have to get another regular doc here because thier office is horrible about telling me the results of my tests. they even never tested a blood an urine sample once.a diary is a good idea still haven't done that though people keep telling me to. i'm bad at remembering.

I'd defiantly look for a neuro to go to. A regular dr knows some about epilepsy but can't treat you as good a neuro can.

My seizure diary is a small weekly calendar book that I keep in my purse (not sure if you're a girl or guy). I write down when I had the seizure and as much info that I know about the seizure. I highlight the days I had a seizure so I make sure I know when it happened.

My memory is horrible too so I also I keep it as sort of a diary. I write down things that I've done or have happened. This way I can know if something stressful or if I may not have slept good, had to get up early and stayed up all day. These are things that can bring on a seizure for me.

When I see my neuro I type out a list of all the seizures I've had. When it was, how long it happened, what I did during it and anything else that may be important. I also put on there if I've been on any other type of med other than an epilepsy on and when I was on it. I give a list to the neuro and keep one for myself. This is a lot easier when I see him because all the info is there and I don't have to spend over half the visit trying to remember things.

I'm not sure if antibiotics could have anything to do with causing a seizure. It could depend on what type of seizure medicine you are on that could mess things up. Just a guess though because I'm very rarely on antibiotics.

Sorry to hear you had another one.

Its probably not the antibiotics but the infection that causes the seizure. however it does seem that if i have an infection its not untill after i start the antibiotics that the seizure occurs.I'm on antibiotics about once every three months or so because i get uti all the time. I'm a girl by the way. I'll see if i can find a competent neuro around here and see them. the diary is a really good idea.

So had an extremly stressfull night folowed by 4 hours of sleep . should be a great day today.
