hi everyone can anyone reccomend anythig to stop my hair loss ? i have tried everything from vitamins to biotin nothing is working. any advice would be great.

minoxidil spray or foam. ask your doc first.

it didn't work for me, but you never know.

Thanx endless i have never heard of it bt like ya say ya neva knw. Wat do u do noe for ya hair?

My really thin spot is in back - the back crown of the head. I cover it up using hair styling. I use a lot of hair products to arrange a "donald trump comb-over" in back. It doesn't look too bad. The problem is that because it's in back, if it moves or undoes itself during the day I don't know it. So I use lots of hairspray. It's thin all over, too, so I use the big body mousse and curl my hair to make it look like I have more hair. Illusion of volume.

I'm hoping I'll hold steady at this amount of hair or that it gets better. I just decreased my dosage of Lamictal. I'm hoping that'll help.

thanx endless, i know mine will grow back, just gotta have faith in it. but thanx hope u get orted 2

Yeah mine is what you could call receeding, front and top so i just take the shaver to it now, problem solved.

i stopped taking taking lamictal/lamotrogine years ago because it was making my hair fall out and also making me vomit a few times each morning.

^not a good idea to stop your meds unless you see a doctor first!

ive been taking Pregabalin/Lyrica for about six weeks and i havent noticed any side effects at all apart from wanting to sleep all the time.

I use alot of hairspray too. I just weaned myself off of Zoloft and I feel alot better. My hair has gotten thinner. When I dye my own hair it seems to make it look thicker. I use Medium to dark Auburn.

I already take alot of B vitamins.
Do you think its the Keppra making my hair thinner??:e:

yes i do think its keppra making it thinner but my doctor wil not accept it. i just want to stop taking my meds totally. am so fed up. i dont use hairspray hair dye nothing so it has to be keppra.

I think its the Keppra that made my hair thinner. I keep buying all kinds of shampoos and I take Biotin nothing helps of course the Dr dismisses this idea to the effect I have to put up with it to medicate my simple partial nocturnal seizures.

well the doctor actually agreed with me today that theres a few ppl suffering from hair loss because of keppra. the doctor kept telling me it was stress shows you they are not always right. i wonder if i stop taking my meds the seizures might stop but i dont know.

Don't stop taking your meds cold turkey. If you want to try going off them:

1. Tell your doctor what you are going to do -- you don't need his approval, but you do need to keep him in the loop.
2. Go very very slowly -- taper down in as small an increment as you can, and stay at that increment for at least 2 weeks (longer is better) to see how you feel. Take notes on if you are feeling better, hair loss is slowing, etc. I know you are anxious to be free of the Keppra and feel better, but going slowly minimizes the risk for withdrawal seizures or side effects.

yeah thats prob better me doc has lowered my dose down until i get to see my neuroligist in december, but yes il def slow it down, it seems my neuroligist dont really seem bothered i mean i could be wrong but its just how it seems.

crazy chick: How much Keppra are you taking? Im taking 1500. Ive even gone to the hairdresser to fix my hair and after they do my hair its looks even thinner! I dunno maybe its because they put all kinds of conditioner, fancy shampoo, moouse and hairspray. I think its the Keppra doing it.:e:

Im on 500mg bt the doctor has knoked it down to 250mg today. Bt i jus dont think keppra is agreein with me at all necause it isnt just my hair. Am aleays tired severe headaches. Feelung down so much that av had enuf n wud rather put up wi th seizures than these side affects.

crazychk What kind of seizures do you have?

I cant get in to see the Dr for 6 weeks. Maybe Ill see if he can lower my dosage. I have asked him if I could go off of it completely and he said NO.:crying:

The only other thing other than dyeing my hair to make it look thicker is to only wash my hair twice a week. I find the more I wash my hair the thinner it looks,:e:

Whenever I complain about side effects of my meds my Dr usually blames it in stress!

Yes my doc blamed it al on stress wi me too. I dno wst seizured i jave i havent actuallu been diagnosed wi epilepsy as my eeg and brain scan came back normal. They only happenedin ma sleep. I am congused totally.

I only get seizures in my sleep. Never during the day. And they are only simple partials I don't know why the Dr has me on so much Keppra 1500mg. I think Doctors treat female patients different than male patients. The females are more likely to be viewed as crazy or stressed. It seems like some doctors take the mens concerns of side effects more seriously. And they are less likely to be labeled as crazy or stressed. Of course that is just my opinion.
