Hello, Everyone!

Since Halloween is quickly approaching, and I've got a sweet tooth that keeps my dentist in business, I thought it would be fun to ask what kinds of candy you crave this time of year. My faves as a child were Pixie Stixs, Jolly Ranchers & Dip Its. Sad to say, as an adult, I tried a Pixie Stix & nearly choked to death! :-p Oh, and Jolly Ranchers have the knack to pull the fillings outta my teeth, and that's why I keep my dentist in business...

I look forward to learning about the candy faves you crave! *PS: I think I'll stick to the candy corn this year. Oh, btw, does anyone know about Zagnut & Zero candy bars? Every year I got at least 1 of each & still don't know what they are...take care, everyone!

Great question, Anne!

I crave caramel apples. But on halloween I give out those cool multicolored plastic bracelets that glow in the dark.

mmmmmm

Caramel apples! Can I have nuts on them PLEASSSSSSSEEEEEEEEE??????

I used to love Pixie stix too, and Jolly Ranchers as well. I just like candy period, unless it has coconut in it. Then, I'll skip it. YUCK. :(

I like anything Chocolate! I haven't had zero bars for a long time (you've got me craving one now) but if you like chocolate they're really good. Just make sure it's the type of chocolate you like (milk, dark).

I'm not sure if I"m lucky or cursed but the place I moved to is within walking distance of 2 chocolate shops.

I've always liked salty more than sweet, so I always loved the little bags of chips and cheese puffs. Lol

I dislike Pixie stix and jolly ranchers *they always made me smell skunk when I ate them, like its a chemical they use in making them? Who knows but it was gross*

No idea what zagnut or zero bars are.

But If I crave sweet its usually for tootsie pops! Mmmmm!

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Any time of year.

Also the occasional Almond Joy...

An American friend of mine often sends me different candy to try .

I don't eat alot of sweet food very often but I love some of the Amerian candies I have tried lol.

My favorite candy is Fanny May chocolates & my American friend always send me Mint Meltaways (yum).

Zero%20Bar.jpg

The ZERO candy bar, introduced in 1920, is a candy bar composed of a combination of caramel, peanut and almond nougat covered with a layer of white fudge. Its outwardly white color, an unusual color for a candy bar, has become its trademark.

Zagnut is a candy bar found in the United States. It was launched in 1930 by the D. L. Clark Company and acquired by The Hershey Company in 1996. Its main ingredients are peanut butter and toasted coconut.
Unlike many other candy bars, it contains no chocolate, though it does contain a small amount of cocoa

Oh, gosh. Now that I think about it, what I REALLY crave is something I can't get here.

Once I took a class where we tried several kinds of straight Cacao nut (from different parts of the world). Not even ground up. Just fermented and roasted. We popped 'em in our mouths like peanuts. Yummmmm... I ate so much of the stuff I got a serious buzz from the caffeine. We also had raw cacao beans, right out of the pod. It's not like the roasted stuff we know and love.

Yes! I want a bowl of Cacao beans!!!! All to myself!!!

My favorite growing up was always Milky Way, until I got a tin of Snickers one Christmas. I thought I hated them, but I couldn't just throw them away, so I had to eat them, and found they were my new favorite candy. :) Recently, I was in Dubai, and I purchased chocolate covered dates. I think those are my new favorite, but unfortunately for me, I can not find them anywere in the states, or even online... Oh well, I will be stealing plenty of my kids candy tomorrow to make up for it tomorrow... :+P

Hey, DaisyGirl! :~)

Thank you for the 4-1-1 regarding the Zero & Zagnut candy bars. Now that you've described the Zagnut bar, I'll have to try one, if I can find one...I have to be in the mood for chocolate, but I love coconut in candy bars & have a fondness for Kit Kats. In fact, today I re-filled the candy bowl with Halloween candy & saw Almond Joys...

When I was a kid, popcorn balls were the goldmine. If someone was giving those out, the word spread quickly. Mmmm...popcorn and caramel!!!

I have not seen a zag-nut bar in years, but the similar Clark Bars are still around. Clark bar has chocolate outside, zag-nut had the toasted coconut.

Did you all get trick or treaters? If so, what was your favorite costume?

Just the neighborhood kids came by. I fell for the pink kitty, aka the 5 year from a few doors down. So cute!

Endless:
I added to neighborhood kids' sugar rush. :~o My favorite costume was a 2nd grader dressed a Heinz ketchup/catsup bottle! Red cloth '57 varieties, Heinz Ketchup' costume w/ a white pouffy cloth stuffed bottle "cap".

That's

a pretty cool costume--a Heinz ketchup bottle?!?! I love it! What a hoot! All we had around here were the generic vampires, witches and M&Ms.

Unfortunately i ended up working on halloween night, so the sweets i'd bought never got handed out!

Now i have a supply of Love Hearts, Fizzers, Parma Violets, Drumstick lollies etc to get through, hehe.

Refreshers bars have been eaten ¬.¬

I went out the night before halloween and there was a guy dressed as Wally (as in "Where's Wally"... or is it Waldo in the US?) who kept getting "THERE HE IS!" shouted at him, and a guy dressed as a pot noodle which was pretty cool :D

Tootsie Rolls, Pixie Styx, Reese Peanut Butter Cups, Those horrid little orange gums with pumkin faces that loss their taste in 2 minutes. Goodness my sweet tooth loves halloween!
Did any of you dress up?
