"One-Legged Man’s Awesome Halloween Costume Just Won the Internet"

Kelly Phillips Badal
October 27, 2015

Josh Sundquist lost a leg to cancer at 9, but that hasn’t stopped him from remaining a “Halloween enthusiast” (his words) as an adult and dressing up in clever costumes that make the most of — and celebrate — his missing limb.

This year’s costume, an excellently crafted IHOP sign, is his best yet.

For the past five years, Sundquist has posted pictures of himself in costumes only he can pull off: In 2014, he was a fooseball player (’cause, duh, those little plastic guys have only a single leg for kicking!). In 2013, he was a pink flamingo … and his leg was the head. The year 2012 saw him as the leg lamp from A Christmas Story, which may be the most perfect one-legged costume of all time; and in 2010 he dressed as a gingerbread man with one leg bitten off. (Click through our slideshow to see ’em all!)

These costumes are great. :) Maybe next year he can grab a friend and be a bass instrument.

The article says he's also a ski racer and a soccer player. A high-energy guy!
